Heather had left to go the hot springs out back to try to relax after Vespersai had worked on the removal of her curse. I wasn't there to watch the curse removal, instead was cleaning and polishing my sword. I needed to clear my mind, and this seemed like the best way to do so.

"Ah, you must be one of the house guests." An older man walked into the room. He was followed by a young girl, perhaps the age of seven.

"Grandpa, who is he?" She asked as she stood behind him.

"I was wondering the same thing. Vespersai brought you here, did he not?"

"Y-yes, he did, sir!" I responded, nearly dropping my sword, instead I grabbed it before quickly turning it back into its watch form.

The older man commented on my mishap, "That's a fancy sword you've got there."

"Y-yeah!" I responded. I know new how Heather felt in the Moonlight Caverns. She had to be just as nervous, so how come she didn't show it?

The young girl came over to me and looked at my watch, "It's super fancy grandpa!" She then looked at me, "woah he's got weird eyes."

"Maki, what have we talked about when talking to your elders?"

"Yeah but his eyes are blue!" She pouted.

I scratched the back of my neck nervously, "Eh...sorry about that..."

"No, Vespersai has invited you here. Since you were invited, you have every right to be here and are treated as our guest. You are our guest, after all." The old man told me.

Maki, the little girl pouted, "But his eyes are weird grandpa!"

"You're probably wondering why young fire wielders look at your eyes funny, now aren't you young man? I do not believe I caught your name." The old man asked me.

"It's Max...and uh...I guess Heather said the same thing before..."

"Young fire wielders never see anyone with eyes such as yours. Heather's are much uncommon too, although hers are attributed to the powers she seems to have. Even young Zennifer's eyes are far uncommon for the rather strong fire mage she seems to believe herself to be. Most fire mages are born with a variety of brown eyes. Max, was it? I don't believe that to be your full name, however I guess our manners are a little out of place and we are in need of introductions as well." The old man re-adjusted his robe so I could see the seal he had on the robe of his.

It was of the Eldrid house.

"My name is Titus Eldrid, head of the Eldrid house, although that seems soon to change as soon as Vespersai finishes his training. This here is my granddaughter Maki Eldrid. She's Zennifer and Vespersai's cousin. I had three children, and yet only the youngest daughter is left...and so it seems time is fleeting for her since Maki has become a permeant resident here at the Eldrid house manner."

I backed up a step, almost falling over as I stuttered with my words, "P-please don't hurt me-Heather and Vespersai were the ones that brought me here!"

"If it's the fact you're afraid of being judged based on your elemental affinity, I do not judge one on their affinity. I don't let anyone bare my name and live in my house do such a thing. We strive to live in unity with the rest of elements...much unlike the Merrywell house."

"And that's what I was afraid of..." I spoke my thoughts aloud, "I'm Maxamus Merrywell...of the Merrywell house...heir to the family head but please don't hurt me! I don't wanna offend anyone my family kicked me out until I'm sixteen and my sister's been probably outcast so I don't wanna hurt anyone!" I threw my hands up as I backed up a few more steps.
