He compliments himself in the mirror, but we allknow that. What no one else knew is that he still takes spaghetti baths sometimes. Clary couldn't stop laughing when she saw the remnants of his bath and as a result he pushed her in just to hide his blushing face. Even after this incident he takes his pasta baths, but only when he's sure everyone else in the institute is asleep.

Obviously it would be pretty embarrassing if anyone read his journal (with all his mushy thoughts about Magnus), but he also has a habit of plucking his bow string when he's alone, and this eventually dissolved into him playing bow guitar (its like air guitar but with a bow instead)
