minhyuk | last wish {angst pt.2}

"Y/N? Yah." A hand waved in front of your face. You startling looked up to see Minkyuk's friend Kihyun.

"You look very spaced out today." He gave you a look of worry.

"It's nothing." You reassured and looked down at the table you sat in.

It's been 3 days since you last seen Minhyuk. After his saying of departure, he disappeared, didn't even say goodbye. You texted him, called him till tears filled your eyes. Life since hasn't been the same. Now here you are your last year in high school, the year that's supposed to be the best, and he's not by your side.

"Your not taking it well are you?"

"He left, Kihyun. Of course I'm not taking it well. He didn't even say what college he went to..." You could feel tears threatening but your eyes were dry.

"College?" He asked, confusion in his voice.

You looked up at him,"He said he got accepted into college."

"He did?"

You both stared at each other for awhile, confused. Your mind wandered away, thinking about Minhyuk.

"Did he..lie to me?"

"He didn't tell you the truth..?" Kihyun was just as confused as you were.

You looked down at the table once again,"What is it? Just tell me..I need to know.."

He was silent for a minute before you heard him sigh out,"He has a.. disease. I'm not sure what kind but..it's getting worse, they had to move him to a hospital."

"He's sick..? But..he looked just fine." You said sadly.

"He wanted you to a believe that. He didn't want you to a worry about him." Kihyun put a hand on your shoulder,"I'm sorry.."

"He'll be okay though..right?"

There was silence again. Dead silence that never had any good meaning to it.

"His time is almost up.."Kihyun's voiced dropped,"Tonight..
probably will be his last moment."

A cold tear slid down your cheek as you clenched your hands together, till they turned white at the knuckles,"No..."

Kihyun started to hold you in his arms to comfort you as you let your tears fall onto his shoulder.

You sucked in a breath as you stood outside of Minhyuk's death hospital with Kihyun by your side.

After school, you had demanded Kihyun to take you to see Minkyuk, whether he would or not you would of found a way anyway.

On the way, Kihyun had told more about Minhyuk, telling you how much he loves you, it was his worst nightmare to leave you and now it was real.

"Ready? There's not much time left.." Kihyun's voice entered your thoughts.

You nodded slowly, taking a deep breathe again and crossing the street. As soon as you entered the front doors, you felt dizzy, unable to think anymore.

Kihyun helped you steady your way to the front desk and check in. Minhyuk's room was just down the hallway and with each slow agonizing step you took, you drew closer to your dying lover.

You took a minute as you stood in front of his door, breathing starting to shake. You felt a reassuring hand on your back and you turned to see Kihyun nodding toward the door,"It'll be okay."

You turned the cold doorknob and pushed the door open. Inside was a tired looking Minhyuk laying in a reclined bed, propped up with pillows, the tv was on and he had a tray of food next to him.

He glanced over as the door made a creaking sound and you watched as his eyes slowly widened to see you walking in.

"Y-Y/N." He struggled to sit up.

"I'll give you guys some alone time." Kihyun whispered and left the room, closing the door behind him.

"Minhyuk." You breathed out, tears already threatening but you fought them back as you approached him.

He looked everywhere buy you,"I'm sorry I didn't tell you the truth."

You stood next to him,"Don't be..I know why didn't tell me."

"I didn't want to hurt you..but all I did was probably hurt you more." His voice trailed off and he looked down at his intertwined hands in his lap.

You could make out his sleepy eyes, dark circles below them were he obviously hasn't had sleep in a awhile. What really screw you was his body. He was extremely skinny, his cheekbones protruded from his small face and his arms looked like bones.

You jumped when a cough erupted from his lungs, a terrible sound that made you ache inside.

"Oh Minhyuk.." You sat down next to his weakened body.

He smiled at you and you could see his eyes beginning to water,"Y/N..I'll do anything and everything for you and you know that.." His voice was hoarse,"So just..tell me what you want right now and I'll do it. Please."

You shook your head, reaching out for him him and gently pulled you into your arms. You buried your face into the nape of his freezing cold neck,"I just want..to stay here with you.."

He moved you so you rested beside him, arms wrapped around each other,"I don't have a fear of dying, it's just that if I die..who will love you as much as I do..?"

His words seemed to echo inside you, touching every part of your heart. You let your tears fall down as his hand stroked your hair back.

You closed your eyes with your head on his chest as you felt his hand stop and rest on the back of your head. The rising of his stomach slowed as his breathing began to weaken and all you could hear was the soft beep of the heart monitor as it rang, a straight line forming on the graph.

You clung to him, afraid to let go of his lifeless body still joined to yours before you heard the doctors running down the hallway in a panic.
