Chapter Four

What would you do if your first love, your one that got away, the one you wanted to forget, came back out of the blue? And in a very twisted fate, he doesn't remember you anymore.

What would you do?

What would you freaking do?

"Good morning, Ms. Agustin," bati sakin ni Shelby.

"Good morning. But just call me Sky please," sagot ko sa kanya.

"By the way, Sky. We already have a few themes for the song we want you to look at," sabi niya sakin with a smile. Nilabas rin niya ang tablet niya.

Tumango naman ako. "Okay."

"Ahmm, for the carrier single of the album," she murmurs while scrolling on her iPad. "We thought that maybe we can put you know...like about partying, having fun, stuff like that. Something upbeat."

"What did I miss?"

"Not so much," tugon ni Shelby. "I was just telling Sky here what we think would be great for the song. We want it to be very young and fun. You know like how people would like to party and have a great time. Alvin, his manager, thought that the fans would definitely love that since mostly everyone of them are young. It's very in nowadays."

"Yeah, yeah. That's cool," sabi ni James.

"What do you think, Sky?" Shelby asks.

"I'm...sorry. I don't think I can do that."

"Why not?"

"Ahmm...I don't do songs like that," tugon ko.

"I thought you're one of the best young songwriters of this country," ani ni James na parang nagdududa sa kakayahan ko.

"Well, thanks. But what I just meant was, I don't do songs like that," paliwanag ko. "I mean songs with that theme in particular."

"So...what songs do you write?" asks Shelby, putting her tablet aside.

"You know, serious stuff. Songs with stories, with feelings," paliwanag ko. "Clark--I mean James, you know what I mean. You're a songwriter too. You understand me, right?"

They both look at me oddly. "What are you talking about?" tanong ni James.

"Huh? I mean you understand me because we're both songwriters," pag-ulit ko.

"No, Sky. I think you got a wrong information from an unreliable website," ani ni Shelby. "James don't write songs. That's why he hired you."

Duh? Sa kanya kaya ako natuto.
