**| Sang's POV |**

When I woke up, it was the middle of the night, a soft pink glow keeping the shadows away. I was in my bedroom and I could feel two bodies pressed up against me. I stiffened, my groggy mind trying to find answers. I reached out and felt long soft hair. The scent of vanilla and sugar reached my nose, along with the scent of something citrusy and woodsy at the same time.

Luke and Gabriel.

I was currently wedged between Luke and Gabriel.

That thought excited me. I settled back down, allowing their heavy breathing to lull me back into sleep. If they were with me, then they were okay. Everything was alright.

When I woke again, light was streaming through the window and I couldn't figure out what woke me. Then I heard it, a creak that was too loud to be from Maria.

My eyes widened and I sat straight up, eyeing the door.

"Luke!" I hissed. "Gabriel."

They stirred.

"Go back to fucking bed, Trouble, it's too early."

"I think Dad is back and he's coming up."

"Fuuuuck," Gabriel dragged the word out.

Luke shot up out of bed, looking around the room with sleepy eyes.

I pushed Gabriel until he rolled out onto the floor, the blankets muffling the thudding. I climbed out of bed as Gabriel got himself untangled and up onto his feet. They both stood side by side without a shirt on, wearing only their pants that hung low on their waists. They blinked sleepy wide eyes as they tried to get their minds working. I swallowed and averted my eyes.

"Attic space," I said.

"What attic space?" Luke asked, looking confused.

I jumped up, hearing the creak of the top step. Dad was on top of the stairs now. I ran over and opened the attic space, completely forgetting it was even there for the longest time. I motioned for them to get in.

The door rattled briefly before he used the push pin. I just closed the door on Luke as Dad opened the door.

"Oh, you're up," he said, looking a little surprised.

"I'm always up early," I responded.

He just nodded, looking around the room, taking in the very little I had. He didn't seem bothered by the lack of items in the room. He focused back on me.

"Diane has taken a turn for the worse and they'll be taking care of her at the hospital until they think she is healthy enough to come back. I need to go on a business trip and I won't be back until Thursday evening."

I nodded.

He nodded.

And then left. That was it and I still didn't know what hospital.

When I heard the front door close, I opened the attic door.

"Air! I need air!" Luke yelled as he crawled out of the attic space in a dramatic style. His chest panting.
