**| Sang's POV |**
After Volto moved away from the wall, he left with Ghost following close behind. As soon as the door closed, I focused on Mr. Blackbourne and Dr. Sean.
"Are you okay?" I asked Dr. Sean in a hoarse voice. He was breathing heavily, his skin a little pasty, as he pushed through the pain coming from his leg.
"Great, Pookie. How are you?"
I scoffed, still shaking. I moved my arms a little against the restraints. They hurt but I could move a little. They weren't as tight as they should have been and my thrashing around had loosened them.
"Me? I asked. You're the one who was stabbed in the leg."
"It's just a flesh wound," he said and we both looked down at the wound.
I could see the blood soaking into the purple and white of his pajama pants, seeping down his leg on the outside of his thigh.
"I'm a doctor, Pookie. I promise, I'm okay. It hurts but I can deal. Right now, we need to get free before they decide to come back. I don't think it'll just be a flesh wound next time."
I grunted as I strained against the loose rope wrapped around my wrists. They didn't use as much on me as they did on the boys. I just needed to slip my hand through the rope.
"This is what they do," I said. "They will hurt you and make me watch. Ghost will enjoy every second of it. It's his fuel."
"Pookie, we are going to be okay," Dr. Sean said with strong conviction.
"Why? Because Mr. Blackbourne said help is coming?"
I clenched my teeth as I yanked on my hand, the rope rubbing hard against my skin and leaving red welts.
My hand slipped out and I worked on undoing my other hand with shaking fingers, my ears on the door in case they came back.
"Help will be coming," Dr. Sean said, watching me carefully as I worked on untying my other arm. Then I worked on my feet, the rushing of my blood calming down with each piece of rope I untied. "We have fail-safes in place for occasions like this and my brothers are good at retrieval. It's what we do best. With the Toma team on alert too, they will get to us. We just need to stall until then."
"Stalling won't work, Dr. Sean," I said. "Ghost isn't a patient man. The only reason why you and Mr. Blackbourne are still alive is because Volto wants you alive. Suffering, but alive. Angering him isn't going to make things easier. You'll push him over the edge and he will just kill you. Volto is barely keeping him in control."
I coughed at the strain on my throat.
"You ca-can't anger them like that. Not Ghost." I shook my head as I undid the last rope. I went to stand up and help Dr. Sean but then I heard a thud. My head turned to the door with wide eyes.
"Pretend you're tied back up," Dr. Sean said, staring at the door.
I did as he said, wrapping the rope around my legs and then around my wrist before slipping my other hand into the loose bindings of the other one. I would be able to get out as long as they didn't notice the ropes were loose and untied.
I just finished up as the door opened and Volto came in without Ghost. My heart thudded hard as he came into the room, clutching something in his hand.
