Who am I you may ask?
The answer's not that simple
For I am all that you would expect
Yet I am nothing that you would respect.I prefer sneakers and flats over your sparkly heels
I don't mind playing most 'male' sports
I can master video games within minutes
But I'm not your average tomboy.I hate to feel sticky and disgusting
I'll usually scream and hide from insects
I'd love to watch those cute eyes of animals
But I'm not another girly girl.I absorb myself in wonderful worlds of books
I can understand what others don't
I can get good grades in the school work given
But I am no nerd.I have an interest in programming, it can be rather fun
I am able to do more than some around me
I am sometimes depended on to handle some of the technicals
But I can assure you, my friend, that I am neither a geekIt's hard for me to say no, I try my best to help
I usually just answer the questions without thinking clear
I'll go along with almost anything one says
But I am definitely not what you'll call an easy toyI rarely talk to people I don't know for I fear the many results
I don't even try to with the ones I want to talk to
I just stay my little group of friends that I didn't know I had
But I'm not necessarily a very shy person.I can sometimes be sarcastic or unintentionally too blunt
I can be wild and crazy, making others think something's wrong
I can be a mystery full of new ways of thinking
But I can assure you I'm no psycho.I'm no little miss popular
I'm no bookworm
I'm no jock
Nor am I a complete loco.I'm no drama queen
Or a miss know-it-all
I'm not like your friends
And we all know I'm not you.So who am I you all may still ask?
The answer is actually within you
For the person that someone describes me as
Depends on that person's views.~
People are put into categories based on numerous factors. It may depend on their personality, their school, their role in the school, their likes, dislikes, status, capability and many other things. You're usually considered one thing or another. But, it usually isn't that simple.
Your mentality today may be completely different from how you are next month, next week, or even the next day. Sometimes we fall into two or more categories that should be completely contradictiary. But then, there we are, existing within it.
Then there are the aspects of ourselves that just don't fit anywhere at all.
Sometimes, it feels nice, knowing what a part of you are and knowing that you're not alone but we will always have that one thing about us that isn't that simple; that stands out. It's alright if there isn't something for it. It wasn't meant to be grouped.
Besides, sometimes how we're viewed and where we stand is dependent on how someone else sees us. One person may see one thing while the other sees something completely different.
What are some labels that have been assigned to you or that you have assigned to yourself?
Until next time,
Ade Alethra
