All I knew was work, work, work
As I slaved away
Practising for hours on end
As you had some drinksYou laughed and teased
Look at me!
Giving up my youth
For uncertain dreamsI must admit that I am dope
I might've been sick or wasn't thinking straight
But when you're scrambling; trying to pick up yourself
I'd have already reached my point of success~
This must be the shortest poem I had written for the challenge. I had been quite sick but I didn't want to miss a day so, that happened. Not bad too if I do say so myself. Anyway, let's get to the point, shall we?
Your hard work isn't always appreciated and sometimes it is not even seen. People can always find some reason or excuse to mock you whether or not you're working hard, especially if they have a dislike towards you, if they believe you are a joke or if you are chasing after something they previously failed at.
As hard as it may be, we need to block out unnecessary comments as much as possible. Constructive criticism and advice is always welcome. You wouldn't want to make mistakes that could be avoided before hand or hear where you could improve. Even though such comments can get discouraging at times, it is within your best interest.
Comments of pure hate and malice, however, are the ones we should try to filter out. It doesn't matter how successful, talented or great someone or something is. It is always capable of getting backlash and hatred. It's up to you whether you believe in those words. It's up to you whether you let their mindless comments become reality or whether it becomes just another attempt to slander someone's good name.
Has there ever been a time when someone looked down on you only to later realize they could barely make eye contact when they looked up?
Until next time,
Ade Alethra
