Humans are such unkind creatures
Sometimes I wonder if we even think
If we knew what our actions could cause the near future
Shouldn't we have just refrained? What am I saying? That could never happen
This despicable species that I'm forced to be with
Our minds, actions and speech disgusts me
Why is it so hard for them to see?We encage ourselves and those around us
In webs of untruthful or ungrateful words
A web that can deflate the strongest of spirits
'Cause you didn't accept the undeniable truth. We hurt, we inflict, we make each other miserable
We think and rethink the wrong things
We over analyse not because it's necessary
But because we feel that we're so right.Open your eyes! You're not the centre of this world
There are more important matters than you
Make yourself of importance instead of trying to shatter me
The world needs more like-minded people. We never fore think the effects we'd have on another
It's a good thing I learned to be unaffected
But not everyone is strong willed or don't really care
You affect them a lot more than you think. It's hard to find a human that forethinks her action
It's easier to act first and think later
What's even rarer than a fore-thinking human
Is the one that would learn from it too. It's difficult for us to find our endless flaws
To think before we do
I give you the challenge to accept and embrace them
And learn from the mistakes too.~
This is the full poem for a series I plan on writing. This series (which is still unfinished) is the second story idea I had gotten since I seriously started and enjoyed the writing. I wanted to have an excerpt of a poem at the beginning of each chapter and a quote at the end.
The next five poems will be the full poems from the first few chapters in the first book and they are all in the POV of Katyma.
Do you think Katyma is right or is she being too harsh? Why do you think she possesses such opinions?
Until next time,
Ade Alethra

PoetryThis book is going to be a compilation of all the poems I wrote between the age bracket of 12 to 16. Though not in chronological order, let's see where the poetry writing journey has taken me.
