You were reckless and wild and constantly on the fly
It'd be dangerous to test your waters
You were a professional player with years of experience
Winning hearts until game over
I was always there to witness it all
To witness every heartbreak
I was always there to see it all happen
To see everyone that would fall
How could I not have a front-row seat?
We were the best of friends after all
We were a strong glue; practically inseparable
A very tight, close-knit knot
I knew all of your stories and adventures
Whether I was there or not
If I was ever not at your side
Your words would've filled my ears
I ask thou, is it wrong?
I know how you're destructive
So is it really ridiculous
That I have and still love you?
I heard the cracks and shatters of hearts
I saw one leave after another
I've seen so many give up; so many grew to hate
But yet I still loved you
It somehow makes me swell with pride
To know that you really care for me
Or somehow really melts my heart
To see your face light up in my presence
Or somehow makes me bustle with joy
Those closer moments we have shared
It somehow makes me frustrated
That I can't let this feeling shake
I get jealous of every new partner
But of course, I do not show
I'm happy at least that you've stuck around
That I'm closer than all who've gone out
It really makes my heart swell
And I can't help but smile
When you say the reason that you're not with me
Had to do with your past life
I must admit it feels really nice
To know how much you care
That you're warned me against your ways
Yet for others, you give no damns
I must admit something else
Though it must be really stupid
That I'm willing to risk being hurt
It if means it is for you
My brain shouts 'NO!' and completely disagrees
While my heart will always say yes
I'm the one who will love you forever and always
Even with a thousand reasons not to
