I'm afraid to love
I'm afraid to lose
I'm afraid of losing the ones I loveI'm afraid to live
I'm afraid to die
I'm afraid of being dead while I'm aliveI'm afraid to dream
I'm afraid to be aware
I'm afraid that I can't do both just the sameI'm afraid to speak
I'm afraid to stay silent
I'm afraid that my speech will only meet silenceI'm afraid to lead
I'm afraid to follow
I'm afraid that as a leader I'll only followI'm afraid to be inspired
I'm afraid to have no ideas
I'm afraid that my ideas will be unoriginalI'm afraid to be judged
I'm afraid to be ignored
I'm afraid to be judged for the things that I ignoreI'm afraid to be myself
I'm afraid to be someone else
I'm afraid that I'll lose myself to someone elseI'm afraid of everything
Yet I feel like I fear nothing
Maybe I just fear the thought of showing weaknessBut it is my fears
That define who I was
And made me the person I'd becomeI tried a little harder
Dreamed a bit wider
And always tried to hold tight to what I love..
After all
With fears so contradictious
You gain some strength
And a little bit of courage
To sometimes try again
And see how things go
After you gave up
Yet another time
~
Sometimes, fears can seem so irrational and worthless. Sometimes, fears can be so opposing and completely different to one another. Sometimes we might even be fearful of things that we once thought we didn't care about. It can be really frustrating but it can be more helpful than we think sometimes.
What do you think about fears? Completely worthless or has its uses? What are some of your fears?
Until next time,
