Fine.
Four letters.
One word.
Multiple meanings."I'm fine."
I'm broken
I don't know what to do
I lost myself trying
To be liked by you."I'm fine."
I'm dying
My system's shutting down
I don't think it'll reboot
Once it's all down."I'm fine."
I'm good
Just a bit stressed
Don't worry 'bout me
Just need some rest."I'm fine."
I'm done
Don't want life anymore
I'll bury me myself
If my foes don't want to help"I'm fine."
I'm alright
Just don't look in my eyes
If they're pathways to the soul
You don't want to see mine."I'm fine."
I am!
Just give me some time
If I fake it enough
Happiness will be mine."I'm fine."
I'm gone
I'm fed up of you
If you won't leave my life
Then I'll leave you."I'm fine."
I'm lost
Don't know which way's up
It all looks the same
I don't think I'll be found."I'm fine."
That's really
All I can say
'Cause I don't know why
I feel this way."I'm fine."
I'm not
But why would you care?
I'm an empty vessel
That doesn't deserve to be here."I'm fine."
When is it
Ever true?"I'm fine."
There's a story
Behind that one too."I'm fine."
Is rarely ever
True to say"I'm fine."
Translates to"I'm not okay."

'I'm fine' seems like the simplest answer to provide someone with. Considering the many quotes and a gif I once saw surrounding that one phrase, I thought I'd write a poem about it.
'I'm fine' is a phrase of multiple meanings but, ironically, it seems like it more often means quite the opposite of what the phrase is supposed to convey.
Based upon what I've read, seen in quotes and experienced myself, I don't tend to like asking someone if they're alright, especially if it's obvious that they're not. But, what can you do?
Have you ever said 'I'm fine' and meant it? Do you often use that phrase when you don't mean it? What did you actually mean when you said it?
Until next time,
Ade Alethra
