Why didn't I tell him before

"I wish I had told Aljaz the truth before he found the birth certificate of my daughter before she was taken away from me when she was born." Janette thought to herself with tears streaming down her face while looking at the love of her life.

The week had started of amazing with them finding out that she was pregnant. Her and Aljaz were over the moon as they wanted children together but everytime they thought she was pregnant before it was a false alarm.
They didn't want their friends or family knowing until they had been for a scan to be sure. Janette snuggled up to Aljaz like she always did when she was scared. Aljaz could sense that something was up with his princess and kissed the top of her head which usually made Janette feel less scared but it didn't today. He could tell that something was obviously bothering her so he looked at his princess with her looking at him and asked her "you okay princess, you don't seem yourself?" Janette could tell that he was worried but she couldn't tell him what was really bothering her. She thought about what she could say. "I'm alright I promise, I love you loads."
"I love you too Princess, you would tell me if something was wrong wouldn't you?" Aljaz replied scared of what Janette would say. She nodded, rubbing her stomach and went downstairs to get a drink.
