Finding out about Ashley and Chloe's engagement

Today I was spending the day with Ava. I hadn't seen her since Noah had come out of hospital. Bex was coming as well but it felt weird knowing that Ashley and Chloe weren't going to be there. It'd be nice to get some time with Ava without her adoptive parents being there.

When we got to where I was meeting Ava, I saw her get out of Bex's car and ran over to me for a hug.

Ava: "Heyyyy, where's Noah?"
Me: "at home with Aljaz. He was asleep when I left so I didn't have the heart to wake him up"
Ava: it's ok. How's he doing now?"
Me: "a lot better thanks"
Ava: "give him a big hug for me when you get home"
Me: "of course I will. You ok?"
Ava: "I will be thanks"
Me: "wanna talk about it?"
Ava: "no thanks but there is something I've got to ask you?"
Me: "go ahead."
Ava: "were you out with a friend a few days ago near the dance school in town?"
Me: "I was"
Ava: "thought I saw you but I wasn't completely sure that it was you. If I was completely sure then I would have said hi"
Me: "it's fine. Her names Karen and she's been my best friend for years"
Ava: "ah"
Me: "what were you doing that way? Were you with someone?"
Ava: "I was sneaking out of Ashley's proposal to Chloe"
Me: "say congratulations from me. How's Chloe after the hospital?"
Ava: "I will do. She was getting better but then we got back after spending the day together yesterday, Ashley wasn't back from his friends and she wanted to talk to him about something."
Me: "she'll be ok"
Ava: "I hope so"
Me: "what do you want to do?"
Ava: "I don't mind"
Me: "you're really worried about Chloe aren't you?"
Ava: "is it that obvious?"
Me: "you can go and call her if you want, I don't mind"
Ava: "thanks. I'll wait a bit longer. Why don't we go walk around?"
Me: "only if you're sure"
Ava: "positive"

As Ava and I were walking around I could see that she was thinking about something. We chatted for a bit then her phone went off: it was Ashley. She moved away from me to answer his call

Ava: "what's up?"
Ashley: "what time are you due home?"
Ava: "two hours why? How's Chloe?"
Ashley: "she's alright. Definitely missing you without admitting it"
Ava: "I did say that I'd swap days if she needed me"
Ashley: "she told me. Go and have fun with Janette and we'll see you later"
Ava: "ok. Ashley"
Ashley: "yep"
Ava: "look after Chloe and give her a hug from me"
Ashley: "of course"

We walked and talked more, occasionally sitting down to admire the views. Then Bex told Ava that they'd have to go soon.

When we'd said goodbye to each other, I got back in the car. I couldn't wait to go home and see my favourite boys and fill Aljaz in on how it had gone. At some point I'd take Karen up on her offer to look after Noah and bring Aljaz with me to meet Ava properly.
