Shopping and scan

Once they got to the shop, Aljaz grabbed a trolley while Janette unlocked her phone for the list they needed. They walked up and down every aisle looking at everything and discussing which one they should get. Most of the time they made their decision by if their son started kicking or not; if he kicked it was a yes and if he didn't then it was a no.

After they'd finished shopping and got everything in the car, they still had an hour before their appointment and decided to go and get something to eat.

They finished up their food and went back to the car to go to the hospital. On their way there, Janette went really quiet which wasn't like her after the last few days. Aljaz asked if she was ok, she nodded but she couldn't stop thinking about her last scan when Amy had gone with her and she thought she'd lost the baby. Janette still hadn't told Aljaz what happened, she felt bad for keeping it from him but everything was ok so she didn't see how telling him would help. When they got to the hospital, they'd parked where Ben had picked her and Amy up from which didn't help Janette.

When they'd signed in, they sat down and waited until they were called. Janette text Amy to tell her that she was panicking and knew that Amy would be able to calm her down which she did.

"Janette please" the familiar voice of Lexi called. Aljaz took Janette's hand and they followed Lexi into the room. Janette took of her jacket which just about went around her bump and put it on the chair next to Aljaz and got on the bed ready for the gel. No matter how many scans she had, Janette always flinched at how cold it was.

Aljaz: "is he ok?"
Lexi *turning around the screen* "he's doing really well. Now let's take some measurements"

Lexi turned the screen back around while Janette and Aljaz smiled at each other. Once Lexi had all the measurements and everything else she needed, she turned the screen back around so Janette and Aljaz could see while she went to get the pictures.

Janette: "that's our baby, he looks like he's waving."
Aljaz: "I think he is. It won't be long until we can hold him"

Lexi came back with the pictures and said you have my number if you need anything. Janette nodded and said bye.

Aljaz: "what do you want to do now?"
Janette: "go home"

At home, Janette messaged Amy to tell her how it went, while Aljaz unpacked the car.

Aljaz: "you ok?"
Janette: "I am now, we're going to have to build and put everything together soon"
Aljaz: "we've still got a month and a half before he's due. How about you choose a film and I'll get us a drink and some snacks."

Janette nodded not knowing that her son had different ideas to his dad.
