Meeting the female pros

It was a week after I'd seen Ava and we'd sorted things out. We'd spoken a lot more in the last week and tonight she was coming over to see me and meet the female pros. Aljaz and Noah were going to Kevs for the night.

I couldn't wait to see Ava again. I hoped that she'd get on with the others and they'd be nice to her now that they'd got their heads around it.

Amy and Ava arrived at the same time so I knew that it'd help Ava. It felt weird without Noah but I knew that he'd be having fun with Aljaz and Kev. When they walked in, I went over to say hi and to tell them that not everyone was here yet.

Ava went to put her things in Noah's room and came back downstairs as Nadiya, Nancy and Dianne were arriving. Amy walked out of the kitchen as Ava was at the bottom of the stairs. I asked her if she was ready to meet everyone. Ava turned to Amy to make sure that she was coming as well and nodded. Ava felt sick walking in which Amy picked up on and pulled Ava close to her.

Janette: "girls, this is Ava"
All the girls: "hi"
Ava: "hi"
Amy: "do you wanna come and sit by me?"
Ava: "yes please"

Amy and Ava found a space next to Nadiya. She just sat there letting the others speak. Amy kept making sure that Ava was ok.

Nadiya: "you ok?"
Ava: "yes thanks. I'm just a quiet person until I get to know people"
Nadiya: "I used to be like that"
Katya: "hi"
Ava: "hi, katya isn't it?"
Katya: "it is"

As the night went on, Ava started talking a bit more and the girls came over in little groups to talk. Amy asked if she wanted to give her a hand with extra snacks so Ava followed her to the kitchen.

When they came back I could tell that Ava looked happier so I knew whatever she'd been talking to Amy about had helped.
