No matter what happens I'll always stand by you

Noah teething

Noah woke up crying but I didn't know why. I went into his room and picked him up to try and comfort him. No matter what I did nothing seemed to work. I got his favourite toy out of his cot for him to cuddle which usually worked but for some reason it didn't today.

I decided to take him back to bed to see if that would help as whenever he was upset he would calm down in bed. Aljaz rolled over as we entered the room.

Aljaz: "is he ok?"
Janette: "I don't know. He won't stop crying or settle so I thought I'd see if bringing him in here would help"

Janette got back into bed with Noah leaning against her legs but it made no difference. Aljaz took him to see if it would help which calmed Noah down a little bit. Janette felt her heart sink when she realised that Aljaz could calm Noah quicker and better than she could. She just lay there stroking Noah's hand while he was slowly falling asleep on Aljaz.

As soon as Noah was asleep, Aljaz took him back to his room while Janette went in the shower. Janette felt a bit better after her shower. Once she was dressed, she went downstairs to get something to eat and decide what to do today.

"Have you got any plans today Ali?" "Not really. What about you?" "Same. Have you got rehearsals today?" "Not until later, why?" "Can Noah and I come with you? It'll be nice to get him out for a bit" " you don't need to make up an excuse to watch me training. You know you can pop down whenever you want" "I know" "are you ok princess?" "Yep. You hungry?" "Yeah" "I'm going to make us some breakfast" "does it come with a side order of coffee?" "If that's what the king wants then he can have it"

After they'd finished breakfast, Noah woke up crying again so Aljaz went to get him while Janette sorted out the dishes. Aljaz brought Noah downstairs to see if he was hungry. Aljaz passed Noah to Janette so that she could feed him but they could tell that he was in pain. "I think our little prince is beginning to get his first tooth" "I think so too. That would explain why he's crying and nothing properly helps him" "have we got any calpol for him?" "I don't think so. Why don't you stay here with him and I'll go get dressed then go and get some" "Ali" "yes" "I love you" "I love you too. Do you want me to get some chocolate while I'm out?" "You know me too well" "if you think of anything else let me know. I won't be long"

While Aljaz was out, Janette managed to convince Noah to have some milk which calmed him down a little bit. Janette walked around the house cuddling Noah to try and keep him calm. His face lit up when he saw Aljaz come back. Aljaz took Noah while Janette put some calpol in the syringe; which Noah surprisingly took without making a fuss.

Noah was soon asleep again so Aljaz put him in his cot then went back downstairs to find Janette who had just finished making them lunch.

After lunch they got ready to head down to the rehearsal studio. Even though Aljaz wasn't rehearsing until later, they went down so that Janette could allow some of her feelings out as she'd found that dance helped her then she'd stay and watch Aljaz. They made sure they had everything; especially Noah's calpol. Once they were sure they had everything, Aljaz went to get Noah ready while Janette put everything in the car.

As they got to the studio Janette had mixed emotions. "You ok princess?" "Yeah" "you would tell me if you weren't wouldn't you?" "Of course. You grab Noah and I'll grab our bags" Aljaz could tell that something was wrong but he'd learnt not to push Janette to talk as it made the situation worse.

Janette felt better after she had danced. Noah was still asleep and she hadn't realised that Aljaz had gone to the studio next door to rehearse. Janette had a quick drink then went back to dancing; she forgot how happy it made her.
