Feeling like I'm a failure

After what had happened last week with Ava, Janette realised that it was a good job that she'd given her up before she got to know her. Noah would also be better off without her before she messes his life up even more.

Janette got up and dressed. When she was ready she wrote Aljaz a note, put it on his bedside table then left. She'd decided to go out by herself for the day to try and clear her head to help her decide what she's going to do next.

Amy had gone out to get some shopping, saw Janette and instantly knew something had happened. Amy went over to Janette who was sat on a bench looking rather upset. "You ok?" "Honestly, I have no idea anymore" Janette started to cry. "Shhhh, it's ok. Just let it all out of your system. You'll feel better for it" Amy sat there comforting Janette while she cried on her shoulder.

A good five minutes later Janette started to feel a little bit better; she hadn't realised that she'd been holding back so many tears. Amy stayed sitting next to Janette stroking her hair until she was able to talk again. "You feeling any better?" "A little bit. I didn't realise how long I'd been trying to keep everything together" "do you wanna talk about it? We could go back to mine as they'll be no one watching us and Ben's away so it'd only be us. It's entirely up to you" "can we?" "Come on. Does Aljaz know where you are?" "I left him a note saying that I was gonna go out for the day" "when we get to mine, why don't you text him just so he doesn't worry?" "Yeah"

On the walk to Amy's, Janette was quiet and Amy could instantly tell that Janette wasn't her usual self.

As soon as they arrived, Amy went to pop the kettle on while Janette went to the bathroom and text Aljaz.

"You seem to be like my magic angel appearing when I need you" "it's ok. You know I have your back and hate seeing you upset" "I never got the chance last week or over the last few weeks to say thanks for looking after Ava. She seems to trust you and Stacey" "she's a good kid so it's no trouble. Stacey and I have her back and will always look out for her. She told us what happened in the dressing room; I'm guessing that's part of what made you upset today?" "Yeah. I'm scared that I've gone and lost her all over again when I've only just got her back. Plus if I can make this much mess with Ava what am I going to do to Noah? They're both better off without me" "listen to me. You're an incredible mother. What you've been through makes you one of the strongest people I know and I'm glad that you're my friend. We all make mistakes. Ava loves you and if you're wondering how I know that then it's because she told me. She's waited for the last seven years to meet you.
