A day of nerves

It was two days before the social meeting and I was a bag of nerves. I spent the whole day thinking what happens if they say no.

Aljaz had come back from wherever he had been. He acted like nothing had happened. He spent the day trying to distract or calm me down but nothing worked.

Noah was doing better which was at least something positive. Plus he hadn't had any more meltdowns which was another bonus.

My last meeting with Ava before the big decision was tomorrow and I couldn't wait to see her again.

I would have seen her today but it was Ashley and Chloe's wedding day. I sent Ava a message

Hope today goes well. Sorry we can't be there. I'll see you tomorrow

"Ali?" "Yes princess" "are you still ok to look after Noah tomorrow or shall I take him with me?" "I can have him. It's important you spend it just you and Ava. Tell her I say hi and I'll see her at the meeting" "thank you and of course I will"

After I'd put Noah down for his nap Aljaz was waiting to talk to me. "Talk to me" "I'm just nervous about the meeting. What happens if they say that I have to be supervised longer?" "We'll get through whatever happens at the meeting together like we get through everything else. Plus they'd be silly not to give you unsupervised after everything that's happened" "it doesn't mean I'm any less scared. I just want it to go well" "I know you do but stressing over things that aren't in your control won't help anyone especially you"

Later that night I received a message from Ava about how Chloe and Ashley's wedding had gone.

They're officially married. I couldn't be happier for Chloe

I could tell something was upsetting her

What about Ashley? Do you want to talk about it tomorrow when we meet?

Only if it's ok with you? How's Noah?

Of course. He's asleep. He misses you

I miss him too. Tell him I'll see him soon and I'll see you tomorrow. I should try and sleep
