Taking Noah home

It was a few days after Ava had been and the doctor finally gave us the news that Noah could go home. Aljaz and I couldn't wait to take our baby home again. I quickly text Karen to tell her who said she'd wait a few days then pop over to see us.

I hoped things between Ava and Chloe were ok as they were just talking when they left after Chloe had got upset. I let Bex know that we were taking Noah home and she said she was happy for us and would definitely make sure that Ava knew.

As I packed up Noah's things while he slept, I kept having flashbacks to when Noah was first brought in. I hoped he'd be alright and that we didn't end up back here anytime soon. The doctor came back to do his last test and everything was as it should be so Aljaz went to take Noah's things to the car and move it closer while I made sure I hadn't missed anything and picked Noah up to take him to the car.

Once we pulled up on the drive, Noah had fallen asleep and I didn't have the heart to wake him up. I asked Aljaz to drive around for a bit longer. Aljaz made me promise to try and sleep while we were driving which I didn't argue with as I felt exhausted.

When I next woke up, we were back on the drive. "How long have I been asleep?" I asked. "About half an hour to forty five minutes" Aljaz replied just as Noah started to wake up. "Let's get him inside and fed" I got out of the car and picked up Noah while Aljaz got his things and opened the door.

After I had got Noah fed, bathed and read him a story, I went downstairs to find Aljaz cooking us dinner. "What did I do to deserve this?" "By being the best wife a man could want. I know I haven't exactly been the best husband but after everything that's happened with Noah it's shown me that we need to stick together, that I need to be around for you and Noah more instead of running away." "You've been my rock and I couldn't have got through everything with Noah and Ava without you. How about we enjoy the evening just us then spend tomorrow us plus Noah?" "I'd like that"
