I walked into Joshua's house, using the spare key he gave me. The sound of a guitar being played echoed throughout his house.

"Joshua?" I knocked on his bedroom door.

"Y/N! Come in!" He said from the other side, I could hear the smile in his voice.

I turned the doorknob and walked in. Joshua was on his bed, looking down at some lyrics and holding his guitar. His face fell as he saw my expression, "What's wrong?"

I quietly laid down on his bed and took a deep breath, "My heart hurts?" I didn't really know what I was feeling, but it wasn't good.

He immediately put down his guitar and cleared his bed. Laying down beside me and taking my hand, he spoke softly, "What's wrong, babe?"

Closing my eyes, I felt a tear slip out. I didn't even realize it until I felt his thumb wipe away my tear.

"I'm really stressed about work and my studies. University letters will be coming in soon and I'm so scared. The future is so scary," I whispered, almost like I was afraid to admit reality.

Joshua sighed and quietly said, "Hey Y/N, I want to see your beautiful eyes."

I slowly opened them and met his dark brown eyes. "I'm scared, Josh, I really am," my voice cracking. My wall of toughness came crashing down as I quietly cried.

Joshua pulled me into him and wrapped his arms around me. Brushing hair out of my face, I cried into his chest.

"Y/N," he softly said, "You know, I love you right?"

I nodded, trying to calm myself down.

"Well, whatever happens in the future, know that I'll always be there for you. Through thick and thin, I'll stay by your side," his voice filled with love and care.

I looked up at him and locked eyes. I whisper as a small smile creeps onto my face, "I love you, Joshua."

"I love you too," he said and gently kissed you.
