"From the top again," Chan said.

Y/N fell to the floor and tried to catch her breath. The two of them were practicing a very difficult couple dance.

Chan and Y/N met at their dance studio. Two young adults wanting to continue their passion of dancing. It started off with being partners for their class, then turned into meeting outside of class for "extra practice". Their extra practices were mostly them sitting on the studio floor, talking and listening to music. The two of them soon began dating and things were going pretty well, if she had to say so herself.

When Y/N agreed to this difficult dance, she knew she would have some trouble with it. The footwork was very intricate and quick. There was no room for simple breaths, it was fast paced.

Initially, Y/N didn't want to do this choreography. She rather do a slow ballad with complex but slow steps. She saw how excited Chan was when he first asked her about this dance so she didn't want to let him down.

"What a mistake I made", she thought to herself.

She gathered what's left of her strength and stood up. She faced Chan and saw he was losing patience in her. He was a perfectionist when it came to dancing and would not stop until he mastered every move. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, it was just that he didn't know when to stop.

Getting into the first position, she took a deep breath and tried to use what's left of her energy.

The music started and the two of them began their couples dance.

Y/N knew she was going to mess up sooner or later.

Right before the chorus of the song hit, she tripped on her foot and fell down.

Chan didn't do anything to help her up, he just let out an annoyed sighed and impatiently tapped his foot against the ground.

The girl just laid on the ground, not even bothering to get back up. She was out of energy and felt light headed.

"I'm done, Chan." She sat up and turned towards the boy.

The young adult just rolled his eyes and said, "You're not. Get up and let's continue." He moved to position and waited for her to stand up.

His girlfriend just shook her head, "Let's go home, it's already late. We can practice tomorrow."

Chan's voice lowered, "Stop being such a baby. You can get over here and finish the song."

The girl let out a sad laugh, "Not everyone is like you, Chan."

"You're just not putting your everything into it."

"Yes I am!" Y/N's voice grew louder as she was getting angry, "You're not being considerate! Can't you see that I'm so tired to the point that I can't even stand up? Not everyone is a perfectionist like you are, okay? Just call it a night already, geez." At that point, the girl was yelling with angry and tired tears brimming her eyes.

"You know what, Y/N?" Chan glared at her as he yelled back "If you can't practice for this long and aren't putting your everything in it, you can just leave. I don't need to dance with some baby who calls it a night after she gets tired. Go find yourself a new partner." The boy threw his hands up in the air as he gestured for her to leave.

She couldn't believe what he just said. Her eyes widened and she just shook her head. Slowly getting up, her head was spinning as she stood.

Ignoring the pain, she quickly gathered her things and left the studio.

"Bye Chan, have fun performing the dance by yourself. I'm sure everyone would love watching your perfect steps and emotionless performance!"

The girl slammed the door shut and walked into the snowy night.

A few angry tears slipped from her eyes and ran down her face. The cold winter air cooled her down, physically and mentally. She couldn't believe that was how Chan thought when it came to dancing. She didn't want to know what his mentality was when it came to other problems in life.

On the other hand, Chan just watched his girlfriend storm out of the dance studio.

The boy slid down against the mirror and sat on the wooden floor. Putting his head in his hands, he rested his arms on his knees.

Running a hand through his sweat soaked hair, he sighed.

It was a bad habit, he knew it himself, but he just wasn't able to control himself. He always let himself go too far when it came to dancing and always ended up hurting someone else's feelings.

He felt even worse this time because he really liked Y/N. He was so excited to do this dance with her and perform it for everyone to see. He thought there was something between the two of them.

Chan was wrong, he let himself ruin another relationship.

Angrily standing up, he played the music and continued dancing to the song.

Instead of changing the choreography for one person, he decided to keep it.

It was like he was dancing with an imaginary partner and gave the dance a new, sadder meaning to it. It was like he was still in love with his partner even though they had left him already.

A single tear ran down his face as he danced to the song, he always ruined things.
