late night snack • jeonghan

The boy tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep.

"Y/N," he whispered as he turned towards you.

You groan and rub your eyes. You had heard your boyfriend tossing and turning all night, causing you not to sleep as well.

"What is it, my angel?" You keep your eyes shut as you turn to face him, voice raspy.

"I'm hungry."

Your eyes open and you look at him, "Hungry? It's like 2 am."

"Wanna get some ramen?" A pout forms on his face with his big, innocent eyes as he tries to convince you.

You stare at your boyfriend trying to figure out how hungry he really is.

"I'm not changing okay, I'm just gonna wear my coat over my pyjamas."

Jeonghan breaks out into a smile and kisses you, "Yes! Let's go!"

The two of you must have looked pretty funny.

You were wearing your fuzzy unicorn pants and Jeonghan's old school tshirt. With your winter coat over top, it covered most of the outfit but the bright colours could still be seen.

Your boyfriend on the other hand wore a white tshirt and sweatpants, his winter coat keeping him warm. With glasses perched on his nose, he was eager to eat.

The streets were empty and quiet, with the occasional car that would pass by.

It was cold and both your cheeks were rosy. Both your hoods with up, trying to keep your head warm as your hands were deep in your pockets.

Finding an open ramen shop was surprisingly easy and the two of you entered quickly, trying to escape from the cold.

Settling at a table, you both took off your jackets. Jeonghan's glasses had fogged up because of the temperature change and his cheeks were red.

You took his hands in yours and tried to warm them up, "You okay?"

He nods and gently squeezes your hands, "It's just a bit chilly, don't need to worry. Let's figure out what we're going to eat!"

A laugh escapes your lips and you agree with him, "Now that I think about it, I am hungry as well."

When the food arrived, you didn't regret going out at this hour at all.

Jeonghan's eyes lit up when the bowl of noodles was placed before him. He had the biggest smile on his face and his eyes were shining so brightly.

"Thank you!" He thanked the waitress in such a happy tone she couldn't help but break out into a smile as well.

The two of you began to eat and let the food warm your body.

Letting out sounds of delight, Jeonghan closed his eyes and smiled, "This is so good."

You nod in agreement, "Thanks for the idea."

The two of you continue eating in a comfortable silence. The ramen warmed both of you up and it felt like home.

Somehow your feet were entangled with Jeonghan's and a small game of footsie was being played under the table. The two of you were very competitive when it came to games, especially Jeonghan.

Once the two of you finished your meals, the game of footsie determined who was going to pay.

Managing to step on his foot for a long period of time and prevent him from moving it declared you the winner and Jeonghan brought out his wallet.

Leaving the ramen shop while shaking his head, he said, "I'll get you back."

You were walking ahead of him, happy that you won. You turned around to face him and gave a sweet smile, "You can't beat a legend."

You shrug in agreement with yourself and turn back around, stating the facts. With a smug smile on your face, you continued to walk down the street in the early hours of the morning.

Your boyfriend suddenly grabbed your hand and took off running. An idea sparked in his head and he wanted to make sure the place was still open.

Arriving at your destination, you look up at the giant sign.

"24/7 arcade"

You face Jeonghan, "An arcade? Really?"

"What? They're fun!"

The two of you enter the colourful place to find that it is not completely empty. There were a few people here and there despite the fact that it was now 3 am.

Walking over to your favourite game, you stood in front of the multiple claw machines.

You crack your knuckles and stretch, "Let's do this."

Sadly, the two of you came out of the arcade empty handed.

Although, you both made some really good and funny memories together while playing. Claw machines are lots of fun.

As the two of you walk back to your apartment, you thought about the arcade.

"Wait, you don't like the arcade. Why did you chose it?" You ask your boyfriend, it finally clicking in your head.

"That's exactly why I chose this place. I know that you are extremely good in these games and you enjoy them a lot. I wanted to see you even happier and it worked," your boyfriend said as he walked.

"You chose the arcade for me? Even though you knew you would lose?"

He nods and continues walking.

You stop walking and hug him from behind.

You embrace him tightly and feel your heart beat faster, "Thank you."

Jeonghan stops walking and turns around to hug you properly. He wraps his arms around you and hugs you even tighter, "You know I would do anything to make you smile."

You pull away but still leave your arms around him. His hands rest on your hips as your eyes meet.

"I love you so much, Jeonghan."

A smile forms on his face and he feels his heart beat faster.

"I love you more, Y/N."

He places a kiss on your lips and you smile into it. You didn't know what you did to deserve such a wonderful boyfriend, you were so grateful for him everyday.

The two of you broke apart and you couldn't wipe the smile off of your face. Gently pushing up Jeonghan's glasses that seemed to slip down the bridge of his nose, you scanned his face and took in this moment.

Time seemed to slow whenever Jeonghan and you had these moments. His heart would swell up with love and his mind was at serenity. He loved these moments where the only thing he would see, think of, and feel was you and your love.

The two of you walked back to your apartment, hand in hand, with hearts fluttering. The warm feeling of love was what kept the two of you warm in the early hours of the morning.
