The boy opened the gate to the abandoned tennis court and spun the pinwheel on the fence with his finger. He stepped inside and gently closed the gate behind him.

Seokmin lived in a large city that was constantly busy. Life went by so quickly there, everything was always in action.

The government would also build things that people forgot existed because something new would come up.

This is exactly what happened to this tennis court, people forgot about it. The court was built in a lowly populated country area in the city so that's why it was abandoned.

Seokmin and Y/N were driving around one day and stumbled upon this tennis court. They found out that no one has touched it since it was built and decided to claim it as their own escape from the busy community.

The couple was constantly listening to music whenever they were together, so their hideout must have a source of music. That's why they decided to bring an old, unwanted upright piano from the city and place it right in the middle of the tennis court. The two of them would go there everyday, play piano and just talk. Their love for music was what brought them together.

Every time they would go there, it was so peaceful. The only sounds came from the piano, wind, animals and the occasional car that would pass by. It was like a new world for the couple within the city.

The rain had stopped before Seokmin arrived so the court was wet, a few puddles here and there.

It rarely rained in his community so it was a nice sight for him. The air was musky and droplets of water decorated the leaves all around him.

Taking the tarp off of the old piano, he checked for any damages.

Seeing that everything was in good condition, he sat down on the piano bench. Brushing his fingers over the keys, a simple song came to mind.

Pressing down on the keys, he played the piano as his mind went somewhere else.

It's been months since Y/N broke up with him. The couple drifted apart from each other due to their busy schedules and different lives. He watched her become friends with some bad people and how she left him for another guy. Seokmin saw her change into someone she wasn't and do things that she would have never done before. He was sad about breaking up, but he was more worried about the girl he loves and what she would do in the future.

The heartbroken boy just continued with his studies and his hobbies. Unfortunately, all his friends moved away and pursued their dreams elsewhere. He was left alone in the big city, spending his days studying and nights playing the piano and singing.

Being alone meant that he would think a lot. Thinking about the past, present and future. Particularly about the past and the break up.

He would always blame their break up on their busy lives, but they really only broke up because of their insecurities. Y/N was not comfortable with herself and was searching for who she really was. Seokmin was focused on music and trying to live out his dream.

"I'll wait until she realizes what she's doing is wrong and changes back to her old self," he told himself when Y/N broke up with him, "I'll wait."

He will wait forever.

Even if she gets lost on her way back to him, Seokmin will wait.

Even if she's going in circles, not wanting to come back, he'll wait.

Even if it's far in the future, he'll wait.

So without a word, Seokmin is just waiting.

Just like how a pinwheel waits for it to be spun by the wind.
