don't wanna cry • soonyoung

The boy couldn't seem to get over his first love. He couldn't seem to understand the fact that he broke up with Y/N. It had only hit him today as he was practicing.

"Hey guys I'm gonna head home early today," Soonyoung told the other boys. He wasn't able to dance properly today and couldn't feel the music.

Soonyoung never left practice early, if anything he left practice last. He loved dancing and could dance forever.

"You okay?" Seungcheol asked him as the heartbroken boy packed up.

He merely nodded and waved farewell to his best friends. He no longer had that contagious smile on his face, he wasn't himself.

Leaving the company building, Soonyoung pulled up his hood and began walking down the empty street.

The sky was pitch black and the yellow lights lead the sad boy to the bus stop.

Soonyoung didn't understand why Y/N broke up with him. He tried his very best to be the perfect boyfriend, but nothing seemed to work.

He had thought the two of you were in love and cared about each other. He thought the two of you were inseparable and would never leave each other's side.

"I guess loving you wasn't enough. No matter how many times I told you I loved you," he thought to himself.

Did you break up with him because you didn't like him anymore? Where did your feelings go? Where did you go?

At first Soonyoung couldn't believe it. He had thought it was a joke and told himself, "Don't play around, I know you're there." He thought that you would show up again, he'll wait.

As the days went on without you in Soonyoung's life, the boy had become more desperate and lonely.

"I need to find you."

He didn't want to cry and accept reality, he just wanted to see you.

Tears brimmed his eyes as Soonyoung arrived at the bus stop and boarded the all too familiar bus.

Like routine, he tapped his transportation card and headed straight for the back of the bus. He sat down and leaned against the window. The cold glass cooling his feelings down.

Soonyoung watched the scenery pass by through the window. Although he took the bus home everyday, it was like he had never been on it before. The sights looked so unfamiliar and his feelings were so different now.

He wondered if you were watching the same scenery go by. The bus you took home had a similar route and you two used to see things together on the way home. "What if she's looking for me?" The boy got off of the bus and blinked away his tears.

A sigh escaped his lips and he felt the tears inside of him. It was making him choke up and feel like he couldn't breathe. His feelings were suffocating him and took control of his entire body.

Soonyoung began walking down the dimly lit street to go home. The road was quiet and the night traffic sounds seemed almost comforting.

The boy didn't want to feel like this, he didn't want to be so heartbroken.

Soonyoung looked up at the flickering street lamps and stopped walking.

"I'm alright," he quietly said to himself.

"I'm not alright," his heart told him.

He shook his head and whispered, "I don't miss you."

"I miss you so much."

The dancer felt his heart sink and said to himself, "Even if they're lies, I need to say it."

"You don't even mean it."

The boy's heart wouldn't listen to his head. It wouldn't let him get over you and mend his broken heart.

"Come back, please come back." His heart whispered to yours. He just wanted you back into his life, he wanted the two of you to be together again.

"When half is me gone, how can I live as one?"

Soonyoung opened the door to his house and stepped inside. He leaned against the closed door and slid to the ground. The boy rested his head in his hands and could feel his heart aching. 

Tears once again blurred his vision and he finally let them fall.

Silently crying to himself, he let everything out.

"I don't wanna cry."

it's been one year since don't wanna cry come out! i still remember the day it came out, waking up early for the music video and being in complete awe of the song. i'm so proud of the boys and this era because they took a new turn with their music and grew as musical artists. they also won many music shows and awards with this comeback and gained so many fans! i will forever love this era.
