4 years.
4 years of this.
4 years of Kim Mingyu.
You don't know why the two of you were friends. You don't know why he bothered you so much and what he saw in you that would make him want to ask you for advice. Coming from different ends of the social hierarchy, Kim Mingyu and you had nothing in common.
He was the grade's king, everyone knew who he was. You were just an average kid that wasn't known by the entire school.
He got invited to parties almost every week and didn't care about his grades. You worked hard and cared about your future.
He went from girl to girl, always seen with someone new every two weeks. You've never been in a relationship and haven't had your first kiss yet.
He broke hearts without a second thought and was the biggest jerk. You comforted others and mended their broken hearts.
The two of you had nothing in common, yet you became friends throughout the four years of high school. Sharing so many classes together and always being seated beside each other, it was inevitable that you had to talk to him.
Kim Mingyu was a player, to simply put it. He began dating within the first two months of your freshman year. Two weeks passed and they broke up. He found a new girl the week after.
Pieces of his personality would show during class and a dislike for the boy grew and grew. His actions and words outweighed his good looks and soon enough, you found that the boy had an ugly personality. He would talk back to the teachers yet still answer questions correctly in class, pick up girls and just as quickly drop them like it was nothing, and thought he was worthy of being popular.
For some unknown reason, people seemed to like Mingyu. They thought he was a really cool guy and liked to hang around him. This only boosted the boy's ego and fed into his mindset of thinking he was one of the best.
You hated Mingyu. He was arrogant, rude, and messed around with girls' hearts. He didn't listen in class and spoke when the teacher was teaching, yet he still managed to be one of the top students. You hated how charismatic he was and how he would distract you during class. You hated how a crush on him began to develop over the years.
The boy did have his moments when you would forget how rude he could get; whether it was his hearty laugh, the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled, his adorable canine teeth, or the look in his eyes whenever you spoke to him. And as much as his personality sucked, he was still damn handsome. With his tan skin, sparkling eyes, sharp jawline, and strong build, how could you not like him.
Your relationship with Mingyu consisted of teasing each other in class, talking on the phone for hours after school, seeing each other at parties, but never hanging out together outside of class.
Through your conversations outside of school, you discovered a shy, honest and kind boy. Someone who was completely different from their school persona, you almost couldn't believe that they were the same person. The only accurate way to describe Mingyu was saying that he was like a baby puppy.
