(sappy message at the end)
inspired by the svt club episode where jun goes out to eat chinese food and talks about his love for spicy food.
~
When Jun moved to Korea, he missed his home a lot. He missed his family and friends, but especially missed the food. He missed coming home to his favourite dishes and eating them with the people he loved. The comfort found in the food was something the boy dearly missed.
As Jun continued to live abroad, he made it his mission to find the best Chinese restaurants in the city. He would judge them based on atmosphere, food and authenticity. It was also an excuse for him to go out on Friday nights and relax his mind and body. He also found it fun to roam around the city, it was like an adventure for him.
He would sometimes bring the others members along with him. When Minghao and him went out, the night was wild. They would somehow go from a Chinese restaurant to a bar. The two Chinese boys didn't mind though, it was fun.
On other nights, when Jun did not have the energy to go hunting for restaurants, he would always go back to this one place.
The little restaurant was run by your family and was tucked away into a side street. The strong smells of his hometown drew him in and he entered the small restaurant. When he sat down on the worn seats, he saw all his favourites dishes on the menu. That night, Jun had enjoyed himself and felt like he was back at home.
When Jun became busier and busier, he spent less time searching for new restaurants. He would always come back to your family's place every Friday night. There was something comforting about your restaurant that Jun liked and never wanted to leave.
As time passed, you served the boy more and more often. The two of you got to know each other and became good friends. It was nice to find someone your age who spoke your native language. You both got to practice your Chinese on each other.
You found out that the seemingly quiet boy was actually quite loud and very flirty. He loved telling you bad pickup lines and never missed the opportunity to wink at you with his killer smile. You would always roll your eyes at your friend and wave it off. You would never tell him that his flirty actions made your heart race.
On one Friday night after your family left you to close up, you realized that Jun hadn't come by yet.
Just as you were about to lock the entrance in disappointment, an out of breath Jun appeared. He seemed to have ran here and attempted to make it before closing time. The boy gave you a smile and you opened the door for him.
"You're lucky I saved some noodles for you." You tell him as he enters the restaurant. You lock the door behind him and gesture towards a table, "I'll get them for you."
You grabbed the spicy dish from the kitchen and came back out. Jun had grabbed two bottles of water from the fridge and brought it to the table, a routine he did every time he visited.
He would eat the same thing every week, occasionally changing it up. Something about the routine was comforting and it was an excuse for you two to see each other.
With Jun's favourite spicy dish set in front of him and your favourite steamed bbq pork buns, the two of you began to eat.
As the boy ate, he told you about his tiring day. He had learned a new dance for performance unit and it was very physically demanding. His body felt sore and he could've fallen asleep right there. You nibbles on your bun and nodded along.
