Seungcheol didn't understand what was wrong with his girlfriend, he didn't notice anything. She seemed like a great girl who really liked him.
He would always take her out on really cute dates, constantly taking photos of her. Most of the space taken up on his phone was from all the photos he would take on their dates.
More recently, the number of dates have been reduced due to Seungcheol preparing for Seventeen's comeback.
They didn't see each other as often like they used to, but Seungcheol made sure to text her everyday.
Even though he texted her everyday, she wouldn't always reply. He knew something was odd about her but he didn't see what was wrong.
When he did see what was wrong, it was too late.
He realized that his girlfriend was so broken inside, she needed someone who could constantly be with her. Her past relationships cut her so deeply and she experienced many bad things.
Seungcheol knew about her past relationships but he never thought about her mental state and how those relationships effected her. She could not trust anyone and always thought people were leaving her. If only he knew about this earlier, he could have prevented all of this from happening.
All of her scars from her past relationships, gather together to form one big scar. This scar made her think and realize that she couldn't handle being in another relationship, so she decided to leave him.

Seungcheol picked up a rock and threw it into the pond at the park. He watched it hit the water and create ripples. Sitting down, he looked at the moon's reflection on the water.
He rested his head in his hands and closed his eyes, trying his best to not let tears fall out.
He was so frustrated and mad at himself. He regretted so many things and he couldn't do anything about them.
"I think we should take a break," his girlfriend said quietly, not looking at him in the eye.
"What?" Seungcheol stopped what he was doing and stared at her, "you want to break up?"
She shook her head, "No. Well, I don't know. I just think that we should spend some time not seeing each other."
He didn't understand what was going on. What did he do wrong? Was it because he wasn't spending as much time with her? Maybe he wasn't doing enough romantic actions for her? Did she not like him anymore?
He knew that she was drifting away from him but he thought that she would always come back. If he didn't let go of her hand, she wouldn't have gone so far away. They would still be holding hands with smiles on their faces.
"Only if I could," he whispered to himself. He began to think about all of the things he could have done before she said that.
Why did he feel his grip loosening on her? It was like he was holding onto the edge of her clothes.
When they first started dating, they made a promise to be together on their path of life. They thought they had something special between the two of them. Now, their promise is thwarted and she walked away, her back facing him.
He saw her walking away from him for a long time but it didn't register in his mind what was actually going on.
Now, she walked so far away that she was reduced to a single dot. How he wished that the dot would come back to him.
"If I could, if I could, if I could," the boy mumbled to himself. The night air was cool and it made him shiver.
If only they could walk on that path together again, he thought to himself. He could hold her hand and feel the warmth between the two of them. He could hold her cheeks and warm them up with his warm hands. She would smile at his actions and tell him how silly he was.
He raised his head and stared at the moon. "If I could, I'll do whatever," he whispered into the night.
