Niall's P.O.V
The plane leaves in two hours for us to go back home, but for the hour we have left here many pictures are taken while we're on the beach. Romantic ones of each couple, silly ones, funny ones, normal photos. My favorite one is where I'm chasing Alex on the beach while she tries to run from me, but I catch her from behind. Her feet off of the ground, both of us laughing. It's the best picture we've ever taken and the best picture I've ever seen. A person takes a picture of all four of us making goofy faces, one where we're both doing something cheeky with our girlfriend and a normal one.
"I really appreciate you guys inviting us to come here, really. Thank you." I tell Louis and he nods, smiling. El and Alex have watery eyes when they pull back from their hug. Louis says that he'll meet us at the airport and we go back to our rooms, packing the last of our things in the suitcase.
I stand by the door, telling Alex to come on. She leaves off of the balcony and walks out of the hotel room. From the time we check out of the hotel room to the airport, Alex has kept her sunglasses on with her head down. One hand wheeling the suitcase, the other holding her hand as we walk into the building of the airport. We get through security and walk on the other side of the building to board the plane home.
"I have to use the restroom," She blurts, letting go of my hand and whenever she turns to walk to the bathroom, I hear her sniffle. Her hand comes up to her face and I grab her free hand, turning her around back to me. It's her first vacation, so I understand her not wanting to leave.
"We can always come back here," I bend down a bit, holding both of her hands in mine. She nods still looking down, I hold her hand gently as we walk head over to the other side to get catch our flight. I hear her sniffling again whenever we get closer. Her bottom lip starts trembling, so she bites it to stop it. I don't even say anything, I just put my arms around her, bringing her into my chest. Her hands are under her sunglasses, getting rid of any visible evidence that she was crying, but it's obvious that she was.
We have twenty minutes until the plane takes off, so I calm her down. Her sniffles speed up quickly while I wrap my arms around her. I can feel her stomach moving fast from sniffling against mine, my head tilts down to kiss her forehead and she sighs, nodding, signaling that she's fine now. I know she isn't.
I hold Alex's hand from behind her as she walks down the isle of the airplane, to go sit in our seats next to Louis and El.
"What's wrong with Alex?" El asks and I shake my head, no. They know that it means not right now. I look over at Alex, the higher we go, the more tears that spill from underneath her sunglasses. She pulls out her phone, but I take it from her.
"We're not allowed to use them yet." I tell her, taking off my sunglasses, so I can see the normal lighting. Her vision focused on the ground, watching the island shrink to the point where she can't see it anymore. I close the curtain and I bring her into my shoulder, rubbing her arm up and down.
"Stop biting your lip so hard." I bring my fingers up to her mouth and pull them out myself, trying to get a smile out of her, but she keeps a straight face. An hour later I lift up her sunglasses to see if she's asleep, when her red eyes dart up connecting to mine, I smile at her and put her glasses back down.
"I thought you were asleep." I kiss her temple and pull the hood of the sweatshirt over her head. She got cold, so I let her wear mine. Her left leg goes between mine, snuggling in to me more, trying to get comfortable to go to sleep, I guess.
