It's blazing hot on this side of town. I take off my jacket and leave my tank top on before I get out of the car. I help the small munchkin out of my car and pay for our tickets.

The animals in the circus fascinated the both of us, but I acted casual as if I had seen this before. The tigers that they brought out brought a lot of unwanted attention towards us because Libby kept screaming. We're all sitting in a small stadium like place with a fancy tent as a roof.

"Be quiet." I bow my head down to reach her face, then pull her closer next to me. I didn't know she's scared of zoo animals, they can't even get to her. Well, they can but only if that weird looking clown lets go of that rope.

"Do you want to volunteer young lady?" One of the clowns ask. My first instinct was to punch the damn thing in the face because I didn't realize it was even walking this way, let alone pop in my face and ask for children volunteers. I watch as they have Libby placed in a box and perform magic tricks and whatnot until someone taps on my shoulder.

"Hi, my name is Paisley and this is my daughter Belle. I see where your daughter gets her cuteness from, would you like to go get coffee later?" The blonde haired lady asks me.

What the fuck? I don't care about your Belly button kid and I'm not a dad.

"She isn't my da-"

"Dad! Did you see what I did! I was with the eleph- who are you?" Libby is smiling like a maniac while she runs to me out of breath.

"I thought you said she isn't your daughter?" The woman smirks at me and squints. Fuck no, I already know what spot I'm about to be put in and I want to avoid it.

"He's my dad." I stand up and take Libby's small hand, but she snatches it back and stays in place.

"Libby come on, it's time to go." I hold my hand out.

"Um, well we better get going. Nice to meet you." The lady looks at me with an accidental expression, she had no clue about what was going on or what was about to happen, but luckily she can leave and I can't. One of us is going to leave pissed off and I don't want it to be Libby or me.

I just went along with her calling me her dad because she didn't have one and she considered Spencer as a brother which he technically is, but she should call him dad if anything. Alex was her swim teacher and Libby hated the shit out of me, but now she calls me dad and I treat her like one. I just have a habit of babying people that I feel protective of. Elle and Alex. Mostly Libby because she's young and this is whenever she learns things at this age the most.

The silence answers Libby's four year old mind. She figures things out well for her age, well then again she is four.. I sit down next to her after she sits back down. The show is still going on, but it stopped for Libby. I wasn't really paying much attention anyway.

"I have to use the restroom." A small voice says. After watching the circus for a few more minutes I look down to check on Libby, but she isn't there; I'm on my feet in a matter of seconds, scoping out the small arena trying to look for a child with brown wavy hair that is bigger than her. People are staring at me like I'm insane as I run around the outside area of this place, there's just a bunch of rides out here which will make it even harder for me to find her. I ask a woman if she saw a little girl around here, but she says no. I continue asking random people hoping that someone will say yes.
