Chapter 56 - Confrontation

After the terrible news of what happened to her cousin, we decided to go home right away. Hindi kasi mapalagay si Sophie pag di niya nakita yung pinsan niyang si Chad. I even felt worried for him since we treated each other like real brothers. It was not the first time he stayed in cell but what happened before was just part of being an immature teenager. This time was different. I think someone was trying to set their family into a deep trap. I must protect Sophie.

I commanded Jack to not even look other things aside my wife. His job was to protect her no matter what it costs. I kept convincing her to stay at home coz I felt worried for her everytime she will visit her flowershops but she was very stubborn as a constipated mule. She kept telling me she can protect herself. Ayaw din niyang sumama sa akin dito sa opisina ko kahit anong pilit ko dahil mabobored lang daw to. She won't let me stay at home also coz I have a company and people who needed my presence.

"Jack, kahit anong mangyari huwag mong ihiwalay yung paningin mo sa kanya," mariin kong utos sa tauhan ko.

"Makakaasa po kayo, boss," seryoso nitong sagot.

"Good. I will call you later after my meeting," sabi ko habang sinuri yung financial report na nasa harapan ng laptop ko. Hindi ko na hinintay yung sagot nito at ibinaba ko na yung phone. As I clicked the other sheet of the report I heard the telephone ringing. I chose to ignore the phone calls coz I was too busy to pick it up but it never stopped and it annoyed me.

"Yes?" I answered in a dull tone.

"Sir Gavin pasensiya na po talaga. Sinubukan ko pong pigilan siya pero sadyang mapilit siya. Gusto ka ho niyang makausap, sabi nito." Halatang kabado yung tono ng pananalita ng isa sa mga gwardiya na naka-assign sa harapan ng gusali.

Umikis yung kilay ko dahil hindi ko kaagad naintindihan yung sinabi nito. "I'm busy, puwede ba mamaya niyo na ako abalahin!" maawtoridad kong tugon.

"Pero S-Sir, papunta na ho diyan si Mr... Mr. Amores..."

Biglang uminit yung ulo ko at lahat ng dugo ko sa katawan ay kumulo. "What did you say?" putol ko nito.

"S-Seth Amores ho..."

That bastard! What is he doing here in my place? Did he even think that he's putting his damn life in danger? Wrong move little brother!

"Sabihin mo sa lahat ng mga gwardiya na papasukin siya dito mismo sa opisina ko," kalmado kong tugon.

"S-sigurado ho kayo?"

"Are you questioning me, Ronaldo?" medyo inis kong sabi.

"S-sige po..." Pagkatapos kong marining ang mga katagang yun binaba ko na agad yung telepono.

Padabog akong tumayo at lumapit sa dingding na salamin paharap sa labas. May halong emosyon ang naramdaman ko. I wanted to punch his face but deep inside I couldn't. Maybe, it was because Sophie asked me the night before we went home to forget the past and live a life with no pain and worries. I couldn't say no to her and that is why I made a promise that I would try my best to leave my past behind and accept the fact that there are things I cannot undo in the past.

But, wait... what if...?

He is fighting back?

He has his own plans to ruin us?

Paano kung kagagawan niya to lahat?

Hindi kaya...?

I firmed my grip while thinking those horrible ideas. He was there in Italy when Sophie thought something bad between me and Sab. Hindi kaya siya yung may pakana rin sa nangyari sa farm ng aking asawa at yung pag set-up kay Chad?
