I don't want to lose her again. Not anymore! Alam kong darating ang araw na malaman ni Sophie yung totoo, yung punot-dulo kung bakit naisipan niyang humingi ng tulong sa akin and we ended up in a stupid deal but I didn't see it coming that it would be worse than I imagined.
"Sophie, please stop... listen to me... please..." tawag ko sa kanya habang hinahabol ko siya. She walked so fast but never in my mind to give up. Kahit saan pa siya magpunta susundan ko pa rin siya.
I was about to hold her arm when she suddenly stopped and faced me. "Totoo bang binayaran niyo si Clint noon to stay away from me?" she sobbed.
Nabigla ako sa tanong niya dahil hindi ko alam kung ano yung pinagsasabi niya. I was confused. What the heck! I don't even know who is that! Clint? At anong kinalaman ng lalaking yun sa buhay namin?
"Sophie... I... I don't even know who and what..." I paused and shook my head. "Baby, please listen to me. Let me explain, okay?" pagmamakaawa ko sa kanya pero umiling siya at natakot ako nun. I've already seen that face before when she mistakenly thought bad between me and Sab.
"Bakit mo ako niloko?" Her words were full of anger. Kahit sa pagtitimpi niya ramdam ko pa rin ang sakit nito.
I shook my head. "No. No. No... Hindi kita niloloko." I held her arms but she jerked me away. Umatras siya at mas lalong umikis yung mga kilay niya.
"Sinungaling!" umiiyak niyang tugon at mas lalong sumikip yung dibdib ko. I grabbed her and wrapped with my arms tightly.
I whispered. "Shss... Please, tahan na mahal. It breaks my heart to see your beautiful eyes covered with tears." But all of a sudden she pushed me away.
"I hate you, Gavin! I hate you! I will never forgive you!" she huffed and fled from my sight running towards her car.
"Sophie..." I called her but she just ignored me. Mabilis siyang pumasok sa driver's seat ng kanyang kotse. Nakita ko si Lino na sinubukang katukin yung bintana ng kotse pero bigla itong pinaandar ni Sophia at nagpaharurot.
Oh God, what have I done?
"Sir, pa-pasensiya na po..." sabi ni Lino nang nasa harapan ko na to
I cut Lino off. "Umuwi ka sa bahay at gamitin mo yung isa kong kotse. You will find her at hindi ka titigil hangga't hindi ko sinasabi," mariin kong utos. Tumango to. Mabilis naman akong umalis sa harapan nito at tumakbo patungo sa kotse ko.
It's been five hours and I had not heard anything from my wife. I kept calling her phone pero naka off pa rin to simula kanina. Tinawagan ko na rin yung flowershops niya at lahat ng nakasagot sa akin sinabing wala daw dun si Sophie. I called her cousins and I've got the same answer even Zaza. Buti na lang nagpresenta si Zaza na puntahan yung dating tinitirhan na condo ng aking asawa.
Suddenly, I regretted the day I decided na hindi ko muna siya pababantayan ng kanyang bodyguards. Sa sobra kong inis sinapak ko yung manubela.
Biglang tumunog yung phone ko na nakalagay sa harapan ng aking kotse. Nabuhayan ako ng loob. I was hoping that I've got news from anyone about my wife.
Tiningnan ko yung traffic light and I saw a warning sign that green will be on in any second. Pakiramdam ko ang bagal ng takbo ng oras. When the green light was on, pinaharurot ko agad yung kotse at naghanap ng isang gusali kung saan puwede ako tumabi. Gladly, I've found a cafe and parked my car. My phone kept ringing over and over again and I saw Jack's name on the screen.
"Yes?" kabado kong sagot.
"Nahanap ko na ho siya."
Nakahinga ako ng maluwag sa sinabi nito. "Salamat... Where is she right now?"
