Sophie
Halatang bihasa to sa iba't-ibang eskinita, he never stopped finding a way na hindi ako mahuli sa meeting ko.
Twenty-minutes and I would be late but thanks God, nakahanap ng solusyon yung driver ko na makaiwas sa nagkabuhol-buhol na traffic. After ten minutes, we were already in front of a cafe where my client wanted us to talk about business.
It's not that heavy to cause pain in my arm," nakangiti kong saad at kinuha ulit yung bag.
Hindi ko na hinintay yung sagot nito. I turned around heading to the main door. Baka kasi magpupumilit to, hindi naman ganun kabigat yung laptop kong dala. Pagpasok ko ng entrance, sumalubong kaagad sa akin yung nakangiting babae and she was wearing a uniform just like the other girls who were entertaining the customers.
"Good afternoon po, Maam...
"Hmm... Sophia Campoverde Berrones..."
Her smile widened.
The place looked so elegant. My client has a good taste. Sabi ko sa sarili.
The girl took me on the right corner of the cafe where we could say there's a little privacy-thing. Maybe my client wanted to talk to me na walang istorbo.
Mayamaya pa'y may lumapit sa akin na isang babae and I think she was very familiar to me but I just couldn't remember kung saan ko siya nakilala.
"Kumusta po kayo, Ate Sophie?" nakangiti to but I was confused kung bakit tinawag niya akong ate. Do I know her?
Kumunot yung noo ko pero pilit ngumiti. "Yes, ahmm... have we met before?"
"Yes, twice..." tipid nitong sagot. She was pretty with a slender body. Tantiya ko mas bata pa to sa akin but I just couldn't remember who she is.
Siguro nakalimutan niyo na po ako, that was a very long time ago," ani pa rin niya.
I was about to ask her the name of her brother when I heard a familiar voice. Pareho kaming napalingon sa pinanggalingan nito.
"Mal, andito ka lang pala. Kanina pa kita hinahanap sa opisina ko," sabi ng lalaki and I was so shocked when I realized who it was.
He smiled. "How are you, Soph?"
My heart stopped from beating all of a sudden not just because I still have feelings for him but because I haven't seen him since the day he broke up with me.
My brows furrowed. "Clint...?"
"Just leave us alone here, Mal," utos nito sa babae.
