Half of my life was left from where my husband is. Pakiramdam ko unti-unti akong nanghihina habang iniisip ko na iniwan ko siya dun. Wala na akong tiwala kay Clint. Paano kung bahagi na naman to ng kanyang laro?
Mabilis kaming naglakad sa gitna ng mga malalaking puno. Darkness covered the whole place and breezy air shook my body in coldness. Nakaramdam na ako ng panghihina sa buong katawan ko. My knees were becoming weaker every second. Ta's gulong-gulo pa yung isipan ko dahil sa sobrang pag-alala ko kay Gavin.
Bigla akong huminto. "We should go back there. My husband needs me. Please... Seth..."
"Nangako ako kay Gavin that I will take you home safely, Soph... Please, we need to be in a hurry..."
But I cut him off. "He's your brother! How could you leave him there fighting alone just to save us?" Inis kong pinasadahan ang sariling buhok.
"Sa tingin mo ba na madali lang sa akin na iwan siya dun? Nangako rin ako sa kanya na babalikan ko siya dun! But I have to take you home first," he retorted.
Biglang humagulgol si Monna at nabaling yung atensiyon ko sa kanya. I felt pity for her.
Tiningnan ko uli si Seth. "They need our help, Seth."
I felt him sighing hardly. "Monna, can you tell me the exact location where did you park the car?
Ang sabi sa amin ni Monna nasa gitna raw ng mga malalaking puno na to nakapark yung car na ginamit niya kanina. She intentionally hid it when she realized that she can't bare the thought of hurting others, lalo na yung nalaman niyang buntis siya.
She sniffed. "Malapit na tayo."
"Good... Kaya bilisan niyo na bago maging huli ang lahat," mariin na sabi ni Seth pero nagulat na lang kami nang biglang tumakbo si Monna pabalik dun sa bahay.
"Monna... Monna... Damn it!" Seth called her cussing in the air.
"We have to follow her" Kinabahan ako para kay Monna. Paano kung makasalubong nito yung mga kriminal na yun na nakamasid lang sa labas ng bahay?
"No! Dito ka lang, okay?" mariin nitong tugon pero hindi ko siya pinakinggan.
I shook my head. "I'm sorry, Seth... But I love him at hindi ko siya kayang iwan dun."
Bago pa makapag-react si Seth iniwan ko na siya. I ran faster heading back to the house where we left my husband. He called my name many times but I didn't mind it. Though my eyes were getting blurry I never stopped running.
"Sophie..." Seth kept calling me but I just ignored him.
Mas lalo ko pang binilisan ang pagtakbo ko. The moonlight was enough to gleam my way.
"Sophie, stop! It's too dark and we don't know the whole place..." He ran after me.
"I don't care!" Nanginginig na yung mga tuhod ko sa sobrang pagod and I even heard my stomach rumbling.
Oh God... please give me more strength. My husband needs me...
"Sophie..." Nagulat na lang ako nang biglang hawakan ni Seth yung kamay ko. "Stop!" hinihingal nitong sabi.
"Seth, kailangan tayo ni Gavin dun," determinado kong sambit while catching my breath.
Hinarap ako nito at hinawakan yung magkabila kong balikat. "I know but I can't take your life at risk either... Okay, ganito... wag kang aalis dito. And please listen to me, okay?"
I shook my head. "I'll go with you!"
"Oh God, you're so hardheaded! We don't have much time. I have to get back there to save my BROTHER but I can't..."
