One Shots: Maui x Moana

Lionized Part 4

Moana's P.O.V.

I run to the Tree of Life and see Maui.  He's pacing back and forth. Hard. I walk up to him and block his path.

"Leave me alone." He says. He trys to walk around me and I block his path again.

"Talk to me!" I command.

"I don't have too if I don't want too." He says coldly. He trys to go around me once again and once again I block his path.

"Maui, please! Talk to me! I beg. He looks at me. I stand my ground and  he trembles.

"Maui...like I told you before, its ok to cry." I say soft and gently. He sits down and let's out a sob. I walk over and comfort him. We were like this for a few minutes.

"He's dead to me. After what he did...I can never forgive him." He whispers coldly. I lick his face and he licks my cheek.

"Its alright." I say. He smiles sadly and I lick his cheek.

"Come on. We should head back to Pride Rock." I say. He smiles and we walk back.

"I'm going to go find Moyo and Mshindi." He says. I nod my head and lick his cheek. He leaves and I enter the cave. I see Nea talking quietly with Dumaka and his mate Ashanti. I walk over to her and lie next to her.

"What's troubling you my dear?" She asks.

I sigh.

"Its Maui. He's been acting...emotional ever since the Mabaya issue." I say. She sighs a heavy sigh and looks at Dumaka and Ashanti. They nod their heads, get up, and leaves us alone. She looks at me and sighs.

"Maui has some issues. Family issues." She says. I give her a look and she sighs.

"Ever since I can remember he had issues. His mother Kala left him when he was an infant. I looked after him with my son Kovu. His father Negasi was a great lion. He was a busy lion but, whenever he got a chance of freedom he would spend it with Maui. But when that Monster attacked him, he was never the same." She says with a sad sigh.

"Mabaya said something about being his 'Uncle'. Is that true?".

She sighs once again. "Kala had a brother. And it was Mabaya. Now Maui got to spend time with his uncle too. They would play with each other. They pull silly pranks on Negasi. But ever since Mabaya attacked Negesi, he was never the same.He lost his sight in his right eye and slowly descended into madness. He couldn't think straight. He became paranoid and he was killed in a elephant stampede. It was Moyo's father Mshindi, who found his body.".

"Maui always had it tough. But ever since the death of his father, he has always been emotional. He trys to hide it but, I can see it. He's hurt and needs someone to help him pick up the pieces. And ever since he met you, he's been happier." Nea says calmly. I look at her and smile.

"Thank you, Your Majesty." I say.

"Please, its Nea." Nea says. I smile and nod my head. I get up and go outside.

I walk alone to the Tree of Life and I sigh. I hear Rafiki chanting that silly tune he sang to Maui. I smile.

"You seemed troubled." He says. I look up above me and smile.

"No, I'm just thinking." I say. He nods his head and sits on the rock next to me.

"T'inking of what?" He asks me.

"Maui." I say.

"Hmm. And what is troubling you my dear?" He asks. I sigh and look at him.

"Its a long story." I say.

"I've got all t'e time in t'e world." He says. I take a deep breath in and let it out. I tell him what happened earlier with Mabaya and Maui's breakdown. I tell him what Nea told me. He nods his head and thinks for a moment.

"I t'ink, that Maui has an issue of letting someone into his life. He's afraid that once he let's that person in, they'll abandon him like his mother or die like his father." He says finally. I nod my head and sit up.

"I need to head back. They'll send someone out looking for me soon." I say. Rafiki nods his head.

I smile and nuzzle him quickly.

"Goodbye my dear." He says. I walk away and head back in the direction of Pride Rock.
