One Shots: Maui x Moana

The Suitors Part 4

Moana's P.O.V

As the same time as yesterday and walk over to the elders hut to find my next suitor. It is Iokua. He looked at me with a smile.

"Good morning Moana. How did you sleep?" He says.

"Good morning Iokua. I slept fine thank you for asking." I say. He  nods.

"What are we going to do today?" I ask.

" I was just thinking of a hiking day." He says.

"Ok. That sounds nice." I say.

"Shall we go M'lady?" He asks as he holds put his arm.

"Sure." I say as I accept his arm. We walk out and we walk by the shoreline. I see my father and Maui pulling in fish.

"Let's picnic on our hike." I say. He looks at me and smiles.

"Ok." He says. We walk over and my father smiles.

"Moana! I see you have your second suitor." He says gesturing to Iokua.

I see Maui smile and finishes pulling the net.

"We would like some fish for our hike." Says Iokua.

"Of course. Maui?" My father asks.

"Yes Chief. What kind of fish would you like?" He asks. Iokua looks at me and I look at him.

"Flounder sounds nice." I say looking at Maui. He nods and grabs a flounder fish. He walks over and grabs a basket.

"Here you are." He says as he hands the basket to me.

"Thank you." I say. He nods and smiles. Iokua and I walk away. We go leave and we pick up pork, coconuts, bananas and some other stuff. Then we start our hike.

"So..." I say. He says nothing.

"Iokua um how old are you?" I ask.

"19." He says.

"Oh cool." I say. Small talk is harder than it sounds. "Iokua...um what do you do for fun?" I ask.

"Well I love to exercise and keep in shape. How about you?" He asks.

"Oh! Well I love to-" I start.

"That's nice in all but if we get married I want you to stay home and take care of our children."  He says. I stop in my tracks.

"Excuse me?!" I shout. He looks at me and is confused.

"What?! Its a mans job to lead while the women follow." He says with a shrug. I walk up to his face and slap him hard.

"I'm need to be alone." I say. He looks at me.

"Moana! Wait please!" He says as he grab my hand.

"I said I need to be alone!" I say. He backs of and I run. I run and I pass the shoreline and my father.

"MOANA!" He shouts. I run and then I hide in my secret spot. I curl up in a ball and cry. Then I hear footsteps. I feel my body lifted up and set in a lap. I look up and see Maui smiling sadly. I hear Iokua, my father and my mother call for me.

"Care to tell me what happened?" He asks. I place my head in the crook of his neck and I explain how Iokua views a woman's roll in life. I pull away and Maui has a killer look in his eyes.

"That sick son of a-" He starts. I stop him placing a kiss on cheek. "Its actually ok. Now I know who doesn't have a chance." I say. He looks at me and smiles.

"It's basically dinner time." Maui says. I hop up and I walk out.

I walk across the shore and I hear my name.
