Maui's P.O.V

I wake up and grab my guitar. I walk down the hallway.

"I swear! I smelt a perfume last night!" My father says.

"I told you he was crazy." My grandma says to my mother.

"Mother!" My mom scorns her. I hold back a chuckle. I eat breakfast and head outside. I sit and Tom comes walking up. We tune up and we see many couples. We play slow romantic songs for the couples. Many dance slowly. Tom smiles at me and I smile back. We spice things up with flamenco dance music. I laugh as many dance quick and fast.

I see Moana and she is in the dress shop getting fitted. But as she comes out a younger guy grabs her hand and she smiles. He pulls her out and they start to dance. She smiles brightly. Tom and stand up and stand back to back. We dance step together as we play.

"Salsa music?" Tom asks.

"Let's do it!" I say. We stop and start to play Salsa music. It's sad because I can actually Salsa. Everyone looks at us and we stop.

"Can anyone Salsa?" I ask. Everybody shakes their heads.

"I do!" I hear. I turn and see Te Fiti my younger cousin say.

"So can I." I hear. I look and see Moana step out.

"Any guys?" I ask. "I can." Tom says.

"How about it Te Fiti?" Tom asks.

"Can you dance with your guitar?" She asks. We look at each other and smile.

"Hit it!" I say. We start to play and we both dance the male part. I see Te Fiti watch Tom and soon dances with him

"Hey hey!" He laughs. I feel a tap on my shoulder and see Moana smiling and dancing. I let out a laugh. Everyone starts to dance differently. We all dance and clap (besides Tom and I) to the rhythm. We come to a fanatic ending. I smile and Moana does the same. I see Te Fiti laughing with Tom. Moana sigh and I sigh with her.

"Not too shabby for a guitarrista." Moana smirks.

"Your not too bad yourself." I smirk back. She rolls her eyes. Everyone in town claps at us. We four take a bow. I look and see Te Fiti flirting with Tom. I roll my eyes and sigh. Moana smiles at the two.

"They would be a cute couple." She says. I laugh a good laugh.

"My best friend and my cousin together! That'll be the day!" I say. She smiles.

"I think they like each other." She says as she points at them. I look and see that Te Fiti is holding hands with Tom. I jaw drops to the floor.

"How?! They hated each other!" I nearly shout. Moana laughs and puts her arm on my shoulder.

"It's called attraction." She says. I look at her and the two walk off. I look in the hat.

Tom took his share. I look at Moana and she smiles. I roll my eyes.

"Ok. Maybe they do like each other!" I admit.

"I got to go." She says. I wave and she runs. I watch as she runs back into the dress shop. I sigh and play some nice music that you just listen too. I hear someone clear their throat. I look up.

"Hello Mayor Tui. What can I do for you?" I ask.

"I've changed my mind. Your buddy can play his guitar at the party. You are not allowed to the party!" He says.

"But what about the invitation?" I ask.

"Your parents my come. Not you. I don't trust you." He says. I sigh sadly.

"Yes Mister Mayor." I say. He smiles a half smile.

I play more until the moon shows. I look at my house and Moana's. I stand up and walk to her place. I stand under balcony.

"Maui? Are you out here?" I hear Moana say. I walk out.

"Right here." I say. She smiles at me. "I'm ready for my next lesson." She says. I climb up the lamp post and walk into her bedroom.

"Parents out?" I ask. She nods as she sits on the floor. I sit next to her.

"Could you play me something?" She asks. I smile at her.

"Sure." I say. I play a sad song that comes to mind. I play it and Moana listens carefully. When I finish, Moana has tears in her eyes. I start to panic.

"Did I upset you?!" I ask. "

No. That was just...sad. What's wrong?" She asks as she wipes her eyes with a tissue.

"Its your dad. He invited me yesterday because of my playing skills. Now he came up to me and said I can't go to your party. He's worried I might try something." I say.

"Ugh. I knew he would do that! I'm sorry!" She says. I smile and sigh.

"Let's just have fun." I say. She smiles and nods. I teach her to play many scales and even a small chord. We hear the door open. I rush and climb down the lamp post. Moana heads inside. I can't hear her conversation. I walk out and I see some people outside. I play a soft melody for them. Everyone smiles and leans on their partner's shoulder. I smile and play for a little longer. Then I hear boots.

"Excuse me!" I hear a male voice say. I look up and see a soldier.

He has a blue uniform and many medals. He has dark and vibrant green eyes. He has a strong jaw and a blonde hair.

"Can you point me in the direction of my Fiancé house? Its the Mayor's household." He says. My eyes grow large. Its Mano! He's here!

"Y-yeah. Follow me." I say as I stand up.

"Thank you my good man." He says. I walk and we head to the Mayor's house. The Mayor himself opens the door.

"What do you want?!" He snaps. I back away and Mano makes his presence.

"General Tui. It's good to see you sir!" Mano says.

"Mano! Your here early!" The Mayor says.

"I am. Thanks to this gentleman right here." Mano says.

I look down, fascinated with my feet.

"Come in. Both of you." The Mayor says. I look up and walk in. I gape at my view. Many paintings and flowers are decorated in the hall.

"Moana! Come down here! You have a surprise!" The Mayor yells. I hear footsteps and they are hurried. Moana comes rushing down the stairs.

"Who is it?" She asks as she looks at her father.

"See for yourself." The Mayor points. She see's me.

"Maui?" She says. I wave a small sheepish wave. Mano clears his throat. Moana looks at him and is unimpressed.

"Who are you?" She asks. Mano laughs.

"Moana...meet Lieutenant Colonel Mano Kahananui, your Fiancé." The Mayor says. Her eyes grow wide.

"Oh." Is the only word that comes out of her mouth.

"I know this is a shock but I couldn't wait for the weekend! So I came early!" Mano says. Moana looks at me.

"What is Maui doing here?" She asks.

"I-I led him here." I say averting her eyes.

"Yes he did! So General, could we bump the party to let's say, tomorrow?" Mano asks.

"Tomorrow?! But my dress!" Moana says.

"Friday!" Mano says. The Mayor nods.

"Maui was it? Tell everyone in town that the party is the day after tomorrow!" The Mayor commands.

"Yes sir." I say looking at Moana sadly.

"Maui, thank you for delivering me to my Fiancé!" Mano says. I nod and walk out. As I walk home I feel like shit. As I hop in bed I feel myself sad and miserable.
