One Shots: Maui x Moana

Nighttime Fun

Moana's P.O.V.

The night sky is filled with many bright stars and you could even see a bright full moon with the stars. But being how late it was everyone in the village slept peacefully. Everyone except me. I slowly open my eyes adjusting to the darkness.

"I hope I haven't missed them yet." I say in a worried yet quite tone to myself. I remove the blanket that covers the lower half of my body and then sit up. I poke my head out my hut to make sure no one was out and about. Once I realize the cost is clear, I walk out of my hut. I see a faint glow and I laugh softly. I then run to the place I adore at night. I laugh quietly as I run.

Maui's P.O.V.

As I walk around Motunui and I hear something. I listen closely and make out the noise. It's laughter. I walk towards the laughter and come to a meadow. I look around and I'm soon shocked. It's Moana who is laughing!

"Mo?" I say as I stop in my tracks. Moana slowly looks at me. Her laughter dies down to a soft giggle.

"Oh! Hi Maui! What are you doing up?" She asks.

"I could ask you the same." I say walking up to her. Her hands seem to hold something. A soft yellow light surrounds her hands making them glow. I stare at Moana and she smiles softly.

"Open your hands!" She says excitedly. I cup my hands and slowly the soft light is transferred into my hands. I close my hands carefully and look at Moana. She nods her head as to say 'look!'. I slowly open my hands to see a small firefly. I look at the small bug with a small smile. It flies away and I look at Moana.

"That was...neat." I say. Moana nods vigorously. I laugh softly.

"Come on! I want to show you something!" She says as she grabs my hand.

"O-ok!" I say. She drags me to the middle of the field and stops. I look at her curiosly. She nods her head at the meadow and I look. She slowly walks me through.

"Curly wha-" I start but, stop before I can finish my sentence my eyes widened at the sight I am seeing. I freeze watching Moana being surrounded with what looks like a million fireflies all lit up and flying everywhere.

I slowly walked over to Moana and on my way to her I can't help but marvel at how the firefly's light up the night sky. It's just...amazing.

Moana's P.O.V.

"They sure are beautiful aren't they Maui?" I ask in a sweet gentle tone before I gently run my finger across the firefly's back which didn't seem to bother it but rather enjoyed it. Maui chuckles a little at the sight he slowly turned his head towards me. 

"Yeah they sure are." He says. I turn my head towards his and see him smiling at me with warmth. Maui quickly turns his head away which just makes me chuckle and even slightly blush.

"These bugs come once every year and I always see them. I like to think that they come just for me." I say with a smile on my face before the firefly flies off and joins the others. I look at Maui and he has a soft smile on his lips. I grab his hand.

"C'mon! I wanna show you something." I say.

"Alright." Maui says. I pull him towards a hill and we walk up. I let go of his hand and smile a playful smile.

"Wanna race?" I ask with a tease. Maui smirks.

"You're on!" He says.

"On three!" I say.

"One, tw- hey!" Maui starts but I run ahead. I laugh and run up the hill. Maui chases me not far behind. I giggle and let out a yelp as he reaches for me. I run faster and make it to the top.
