Moana's P.O.V

A year after I got the letter of Maui's death I met Tamatoa. He is sweet and caring and fun. But as I got to know Tom, the more violent he became. He would hit me and call me awful things. But he would apologize afterwards. Now he and I are at the mall and I don't feel being here. Tom is also in a bad mood.

"Come on Tom! Let's go home." I say. He just grumbles and grabs my wrist hard. So hard its starts to hurt.

"Let me go Tom!" I shout.

"Knock it off you bi-" He starts.

"That's no way to talk to a lady!" I hear someone say. I turn and gasp.

"M-maui?!" I stutter. He looks at me and is shocked.

"Moana?" He asks.

"I-I thought you were dead!" I say. He smiles.

"Not dead. Just missing." He says.

"Come on Moana! Let's blow this joint!" Tamatoa says.

"No!" I say.

"What did you say?" He growls.

"I said No!" I shout. I kick him and run.

"Moana!" I hear Maui shout. I run and I stop to catch my breath.

"Moana!" I hear. I spin around and hit a camo uniform.

"Maui!" I say.

"Who was a that guy?" He asks as he cocks a brow.

"That's Tamatoa... my boyfriend." I say.

"Boyfriend?!" Maui exclaims.

"After I heard the news that your squad car was blown up, I assumed you were dead. I waited for a year and then I met Tom. He was sweet, gentle and we fell in love." I say.

"Or so you thought." He says.

"No! I mean-" I start.

"Moana, I can see the bruises on you neck and scratches on your wrist. And I know that he hit you so hard that gave you a minor concussion on your left temple." He says.

"How did you know?" I ask. He smirks and touches my left temple.

"Ouch!" I whisper.

"I know this because I saw your body language." He says. I sigh. "And you hate wearing long sleeve shirts in the summer." He smirks.

"Well thank god we never moved in together." I mumble. Maui chuckles.

"Well what now? I'm scared." I say. Maui looks at the direction we came from.

"I think its time you said goodbye to Tamatoa." Maui says with a mischievous grin. I smile and he gestures at me. We walk back and Tom looks pissed.

"Where the hell were you?" He shouts. I look at Maui and he gives me a "I got your back" look. I take a deep breath in and out.

"Its over Tom. I'm breaking up with you." I say. Tom grows furious.

"Now you just-" He starts as he starts to walk up to me.

"You heard the lady. She said it was over. Now we can do this the easy way where you walk out perfectly fine or the hard way where you look like you just crawled out of hell. I hope you choose the hard way because I like to have a good tussle." Maui says. Tom just snarls and walks away.

"Thank you." I say. He smiles.

"You're welcome!" He says in sing song voice. I nearly fall over laughing. I remember his little song he made up.

"Hey since now that you know that I'm not dead could we maybe start over and be friends?" Maui asks. I smile.

"I'd like that." I say. He smiles and I feel myself smile back.

1 Year Later...

Maui and I got back together a month later. Now we've been dating for over a year now. He and I are at a family reunion of mine and we are just about to start dinner.

"Excuse me! Can I have everyone's attention please!" Maui says loudly. Everyone stops talking and I look at him.

"As you all know, that today is the day I came home!" He says. I look at him and he looks at me with a smile.

"Moana? Could you come here for a minute?" He asks. I walk up.

"Moana, when I left for Iraq you were always on my mind. I loved you then like I love you now. You were the reason I kept fighting. You are the sunshine in my life and you've been there for me. Now I have to ask you a question." He says. He gets on one knee and I gasp as my hands fly to my mouth. My family cheers. He chuckles and grabs a box out of his pocket.

"Moana Waialiki, will you marry me?" He says as he pulls out a aquamarine ring.

"Say yes!" I hear my family chant. I feel tears come to my eyes. I shake my head.

"Yes! Yes I will marry you!" I say as tears of joy fall down my face. Maui places the ring on my finger and stands up. I kiss him softly and everyone cheers. I laugh as we pull back. Many woman come over and I show them my ring. We eat dinner and talk for a while. Then everyone packs up and goes home.

I see Maui talk with my father and I talk with my mother.

"I wish Gramma was here to see me get married." I say.

"She is...in your heart that is." My mother says. I smile.

"Ready to go?" I hear Maui ask.

"I sure am!" I say. I hug my parents goodbye and I hop in the car.

"I love you." I say. Maui smiles.

"I love you too." He says. We drive home and make plans.

6 Months Later...

"Do you Moana Waialiki take this man to be you lawfully wedded husband?" The minister asks.

"I do." I say.

"And do you Maui Demoni take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The minister asks.

"I do." He says.

"I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride." He says. Maui pulls me close and smiles. I plant my lips on his and people cheer. We smile and walk down the aisle as man and wife.
