As Maui came back to recover from when Te ka hit him, Moana saw an opening. She smiled and steered the boat.

"What are you doing?!" Maui exclaimed.

"Getting you closer!" She exclaimed. Maui looked at the clearing.

"We're not going to make it turn back!" Maui exclaimed.

"No!" She shouted.

"Moana!" He shouted.

Taka then shot a fireball at the two. Maui gasped and used his fishook to block the fireball. A bright purple light shone through on the impact. Then the boat went flying back. Maui sat up and looked at his fishhook. It was cracked. It wouldn't have happened if the kid would of listened.

"Do you ever listen to anyone?" He asked. She did not answer.

"You not speaking to me?" He asked feeling agitated. Still no answer. He gave a shout of frustration and spun around. His anger vanished as soon as he saw her.

"Oh no!" He whispered. There lied Moana's limp body.

He rushed over to her side.

"Kid! Kid! Can you here me?" He asked. He picked her up and felt something warm. Blood? He tilted her head and saw she was bleeding.

"Gods no! Hey wake up!" He said panicked. She says nothing.

"Please! Wake up! You can't leave me!" He said.

"Come on! You gotta finish the mission with me!" He said.

"The ocean chose you to save the world!" He whispered. Then he picked her up, held her close, and started to cry.

"Why do you cry?" Maui heard. He looked up and looked at the figure. She was old and had white hair.

"Why do you cry demigod of the wind and sea?" Asked the woman.

"I didn't protect her...and now she's gone." He said. The old woman came closer and he held onto Moana closer.

"Ah! My little Moana. She was always so stubborn." The woman says with a small smile.

"How...how well do you know Moana?" Maui asks.

"Know her? I'm her grandmother Tala." She says.

"I have a question for you demigod. Do you know who you are?" The woman asks.

"Of course! I am..." Maui starts but stops.

"Well?" She inquires. Maui looks back at Moana then Tala.

"I am...Maui. Demigod of the Wind and Sea, hero to all and friend of the chosen one named Moana." He says.

"Is it still a friendship or is there something more your heart tells you?" Tala inquires.

"I uh...wait how did you know?" Maui asks.

"Well by two things. One: you wouldn't be crying so hard over just a friend you just made. Two: you wouldn't be holding her so close to you if you are just friends." She points out. Maui looks down and Moana and felt more tears stream down his face. As he looked up he saw he was alone once more. He trembled and cried harder from before.

As soon as he stopped crying and was determined to finished what they started. He fixed the canoe and sewed the sail back together. Then he sailed towards Te Fiti. As soon as he got close he decided to fly in his hawk form. He flew high and out of Te ka's reach.

"Alright! I only need to place the heart in the spiral." He told himself. He gasped. Te Fiti was gone. He flew down and noticed that Te ka was awake. Then he saw something he never noticed. In the center of the demon's chest was a spiral. He nodded his head for he knew what to do. He flew close to and island.

"Hey! Umm could you do me this one favor and let her come to me?" He asked the ocean. The ocean parted and Taka looked at Maui confused.

Te ka made its way over and when it was right in Maui's face, Maui placed the heart back. Soon the ash started to crumble and Te Fiti was found. She looked at Maui and he only nodded as he swam back to the canoe. As he boarded the boat, he sighed sadly at the Moana.

Suddenly the canoe came to Te Fiti's island.

"You did this." He said coldly as he felt tears prick his eyes. He picked her up and spun around to face Te Fiti.

"YOU DID THIS TO HER! SHE WAS JUST A LITTLE GIRL WHO WAS TRYING TO HELP YOU, AND YOU KILLED HER!" He shouted at Te Fiti as he let tears fall. He held Moana close to his chest like as if she was an infant crying. Te Fiti looked at Moana's body and used her magic to raised her body.

Moana's body started to spin and glow. Soon her body landed in Maui's arms. At first nothing happened. Then Moana groaned.

"Maui?" She asked. He looked down at her and started to cry.

"Yeah...its me." He said. He held her tightly and smiled.

"Did we save the world?" She asked.

"Yes...we did." Said Maui.

"Why are you crying?" She asked.

"Because...a person I cared for almost died." He said.

"Me?!" She asked.

"Yes you." He said.

"Oh...I'm sorry." She said. He only chuckled.

"Its ok. Next time though...listen to me ok?" He asked. She nodded.

"Umm can you put me down?" She asked.

"Oh! Yes! I'm sorry!" Maui said. He put Moana down on her feet. Moana was wobbly at first but she stood her ground.

"Can you walk?" He asked. Moana took a step forward and almost nailed her face in the sand.

"Woah!" She shouted. But Maui caught her hand and pulled her up.

"Careful! You lost a lot a blood from your head. That's how you..." But Maui never finished. Moana places a kiss on his cheek.

"I'm alright." She said. He look at her with wide eyes but she was only smiling. Maui smiles and Te Fiti creates a new canoe. Maui bows in respect and Te Fiti lies down and falls asleep. The two nod and Maui carries Moana bridal style to the canoe.

"Ready?" He asked.

Moana nods her head and Maui pushes them off and the two sail for Montuni.
