I Can't Help Falling In Love With You

Maui's P.O.V

Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you?

I  return to Monotuni from a mission and see Moana. She smiled so brightly, she decided to throw a luau in honor of me. I tried to tell her it wasn't necessary of her to do that. But she insisted and there was no going back. I sighed and smiled. All I said was

"Alright.".

Moana smiled. But I knew of one thing that after 4 years, a tennager to an adult can change drastically. And it hit Moana hard. Her figure grew and so did her personality.

The luau was thrown at night under the moon. But I sighed. I knew a lot of people would ask questions. But I looked around and smiled. A little boy who obviously had a crush on the little girl next to him stole a kiss and they both were blushing but giggling. I looked and saw an elderly couple. They were whispering to each other but so in love like they fell in love yesterday. Then I turned and saw a couple who looked like Moana and me. I mean were are not a couple but age looking. They must of gotten engaged because I saw the girl jumping up and down happily.

Then theres me. Just a lonely demigod who people still hate. I sigh and knew that it was a bad idea of coming back because the more I look around, the more lonelier I feel. Maybe I can sneek out when no one is looking. I turn to leave.

"Maui?" I heard. I looked up and see Moana. She's wearing an assortment of yellows, reds, pinks, and blues. Gods does she look beautiful. For the first time in three thousands years I felt myself grow pink. Was she always this beautiful? I mean sure that Pele was pretty but wow! Pretty isn't even good enough to describe Moana.

"Hey." Was all I said.

"Why aren't you dancing?" She asked.

"I uh...cough...I'm not much of a dancer." I admit.

She giggles.

"It not hard. Come on!" She says as she holds out a hand. I looked down at my chest and I saw Tiny smiling as he was dancing with little Mo. Just say no thank you and everything will be ok! You know personally you cannot dance! You have two left feet! My head thought.

"O-ok!".

Damn it! She smiles and grabs my hand. I gulp and she pulls me on the dancefloor unaware of my nervousness.

"Now put your hand on my waist." She says. Alright now this is going too far!

"Um ok." I say. I swallow hard as I place my hand on Moana's waist delicately. The whole time Moana was smiling that warm and beautiful smile of hers. I watch as Moana grabs my other hand and places the one free hand on my shoulder.

"Normally the man leads but, I'll start out ok?" She says. I can only nod.

"Ok ready?" She asks. This is your chance! Declince and say that you have to leave!

Once again I merely nod. Slowly we start to turn. The whole time I keep my eyes on Moana. She still smiled at me shining with beauty and brilliance. Slowly I grow more relaxed. Being around Moana seems to do that. Ever since I've been traveling back and forth I've grown more physically and emotionally attached to Moana. It could seem I could tell her anything!

Well, almost anything.

After knowing Moana all these years, I've come to realize that I've fallen in love with her. It was like a spark that had gone off in my heart. She was so caring, warm, stubborn; when she laughs, I find myself laughing too. Being with Moana felt right. All the cares and hatred of the world seem to disappear when I'm with this crazy fun and beautiful woman who I'm lucky to call a friend.

The music continued and I seem to not pay attention.  I was too wrapped up in Moana. I watch as Moana places her head in my chest. Gods, being so close to her was so exciting but unbearable at the same time. I want no! I need to tell her! Yes the fear of rejection was still at play but I need to tell her. If I do and she says no, then she knows how I feel. It would make me feel at ease if I do. I can't keep this to myself anymore.

"Moana?" I suddenly say.

"Yes Maui?" She says. Hold it right there lover boy! Now don't you dare!

"Can I talk to you on the beach?" I ask. She smiles and we pull apart. We head towards the beach and the only light given of was by the moon. I pray to Te Fiti that everything will go alright as Moana has her attention on the sea.  Even in moonlight Moana looked beautiful. The fluttering returns and I exhale before speaking. Well here goes nothing!

"Moana I...have something really important to tell ya." I say. Moana looks at me with a smile.

"What is it Maui?" She asks.

Like a river flows surely to the sea

"I...well...I." I gulp.

"I love you." Moana is deadly silent. Well shit! There goes your one and only friend moron! You should of left the party when you had the chance. You should never come back and never show your face around here again!

"Say it again." She says.

"What?" I say.

"Say it again." Moana repeats.

"I love you?" I say questioning myself.

"Again." She says as she walks closer to me.

"I love you?" I say starting to smile.

"And again!" She says as she wraps her arms around my neck.

"I love you." I say.

"Again!" She says.

"I love you." I say.

"Once more!" She says.

"I love you!" I say. Moana squeals and kisses me! I smile and kiss her back. When I pull back, Moana's grinning ear from ear.

"Maui I've been wait to hear those words from you," She says happily.

"I thought my prayers and wishes would never come true. I've waited for this day and now I know that my prayers have been answered." She says.

"Wait a minute! Does this mean?" I start.

"Yes Maui... I love you too." She says. I laugh happily and pick her up off the ground spinning her around. She laughs excitedly.

"Oh my gods! My prayers have been heard and answered!" I say as I set her down.

She smiles and I kiss her once again. She giggles into the kiss. When we pull apart I hold her close to me.
