"Have you found the answer to question number nine?" Keira asks me, keeping her voice down. Even though there are barely anyone in the library.

"No, at the moment I just feel like flicking Napoleons head off." I mutter angrily.

Mr. Ferguson has given us a handout with questions about Napoleon and it is due to tomorrow's lesson.

Some of the question are really hard to find the answer to, no matter how hard we have tried, we are still missing the answers to three questions.

"Oh my god, who gives a crap about Napoleon?" I huff tiredly and lean my head against the cold table.

"Mr. Ferguson, obviously." Keira points out with a mumble and scans yet another website for information.

"Do you find anything?" I ask, brining my head back up and wiping my eyes.

"I don't know, maybe." She answers, deep in thought while pinching her lip with two fingers.

"Well, we will have to find the answers pretty soon since the library closes in fifteen minutes."

I point out as the librarian, Ms. Andrews, circulates the area where we are seated once again. She has been passing us the last ten minutes, giving us significant looks of slight disapproval. I don't understand it, she is hired to help us students, yet she barely does it.

From what I have heard about Ms. Andrews, she has like ten cats or something. I guess she is pretty lonely and I don't think she is very fond of young people. It must be hard working as a librarian then.

"I am sorry, ladies, but we are closing now."

Without realizing it, Ms. Andrews has been able to sneak up behind us and startles the two of us.

I take three deep breaths and make sure that I have not suffered from a heart attack, before turning around to answer her.

"Of course, Ms. Andrews, we will leave right away." I tell her and force a smile.

"Good, good." She mumbles and walks away.

"What a nutcase." Keira mumbles and shuts down her laptop.

"I feel sort of sorry for her, she must be lonely." I admit, watching as she walks back to the help desk.

"Lonely or not, she is still a nutcase. Come on, we better leave before she chops us into to bits and pieces for being here so late."

I nod and we exit the main school building.

Once we reach the parking lot I realize that I have no way of getting home. Keira lives much closer to our school than me so she takes her bike every morning, otherwise she could have given me a ride home.

Remorsefully I take out my phone and dial Jack's number, knowing that this will be a tough conversation. I know that Jack is pissed at me, he has the shortest temper ever. The question is how pissed though, hopefully he has already forgotten my small mistake.

"Yes?" Jack's tone is clipped when he answers and the situation is much worse than I thought.

"Hi." I say with a small voice.

"What do you want?"

Jeez, there is no need being rude.

"Uhm, could you come and pick me up at school?" I answer carefully. "Please, I have no other way of getting home."

"Why don't you take a taxi? I completely forgot that I have my gamble session with my friends today and there is just no way that I can break loose from this." Jack says with a ridiculed voice, obviously mocking me, and I feel a pinch in my heart.

"What are you-,"

"Sorry, babe, gotta go." He says and hangs up the phone.

Absolutely stunned, I can't do anything but stare at the phone. How dare he hung up on me like that? And how the hell am I supposed to get home?

Feeling abandoned by Jack, the panic slowly starts to sweep thorough my body as I register what just happened.

How can he treat me like this after what we have been through these last few days? I thought we were finally getting somewhere, obviously I was wrong.

"What is wrong?" Keira asks when she sees my distressed posture.

"Jack completely ignored me when I told him that he needs to come and pick me up. I have no other way of getting home." I say stressed out, starting to pace back and forth.

"Douche." Keira says under her breath, while unlocking her bike.

"How can he do this to me?" I ask frustrated.

"It is Jack Davis, what did you expect?" Keira says dryly.

"A bit more actually, I thought that we were finally getting to know each other on a deep level." I tell her honestly and feel devastated over the fact that Jack has completely abandoned me.

"Why would you like to have a deepened relation with that jerk?" Keira says sarcastically.

"Because is have to live with him, Keira, that is why." I say rather forced, clearly not in the mood for yet another argument about my relation with Jack.

Keira ignores my bad mood with a skeptical look, however she does change the subject.

Thankfully.

"Call Sam and see if he can give you a ride, I don't think he is up to anything right now."

I give her a nod yes and dial Sam's number.

Please pick up, please, please.

He is one of the few chances I have to get home, mum is still at work and she will be there for another hour or so.

If Sam cannot drive me, I might as well walk home. I dread it though, walking home takes almost forty five minutes and right now I am not up to it one bit.

"Hello?" Sam picks up on the third ring and makes a small victory pose.

"Hey Sam." I say, trying to not sound too desperate.

"Hey, is everything alright?"

"Not really, Jack has totally abandoned me at school." I tell him, unable to keep out the bitterness from my voice. "Can you please come and pick me up?"

"Sure, honey, I'll be right there." Sam say and I can hear the pity in his voice. We hung up and he promises to be here in fifteen minutes.
