Kate's emotions were in a turmoil after dancing with Nate. She could not forget the expression in his face. He looked misty eyed as if he was fighting something inside himself. Ryan was still looking at her with concern but never really saying anything. They were dancing but their movements seem wooden each occupied with their own thoughts.

After a long moment of silence Ryan finally spoke. His voice a welcoming sound making her feel that things would be alright between them.

You want to go around the grounds? We have a gazebo here I really like to show you he said quietly.

She smiled then. I'd really like that Ryan.

He returned her smile as he placed his arm around her shoulder. Walking together quietly. The light feeling they had earlier seem lost now. Ryan was holding her close as they walked but Kate sensed something was wrong. He was far too quiet. His expression unreadable. Some part of her felt scared why he was acting this way. It wasn't his nature to be brooding. She felt it had something to do with the dance. With Nate and the steel like exchange they had earlier.

Kate instead concentrated on the beautiful gardens and landscape of Ryan's home. The lawn was manicured to perfection looking lush and green. A mirage of exotic flowers of different colours. There were so many varieties grouped together that she felt she was in a different world were everything was just perfect and peaceful.

It's so beautiful here Ryan. Even the flowers. I've never seen them all abloom like this. I feel as if I'm in paradise.

Yeah it is. He said. I love to come here too sometimes. Just go around. Time to just relax after a day's work.

And you have it right in your own home. Anytime. How wonderful to have all this Ryan. she said holding his hand looking at him with love. How simple and down to earth he was. There was no airs about him even if he was brought up with all these wealth.

I don't think much of it Kate. But it is beautiful and peaceful just to be here. He simply said.

They were reaching the gazebo now and all Kate could do was stand in awe. The gazebo was striking its white structure casting a beautiful glow in the moonlight. There were even more flowers that surrounded it. A wide array. A mixture of reds and yellows combined that was breath taking for Kate to see.

I can stay here forever and never leave. She said admiring how beautiful the gazebo looked with this garden paradise.

But she couldn't help but notice how quiet Ryan was. He wasn't his usual self making her worry what was really on his mind. He and Nate were almost similar. She knew something was wrong.

You know you're so quiet. Is everything all right? You were so vibrant and happy a while ago. Ever since the dance you've gone all quiet on me. I just want to know what's on your mind Ryan. We promise each other we'd always be open to each other. Remember?

Ryan was contemplative his hand resting on hers looking far away. The dance. It bothered him a great deal. Looking at both Kate and Nate dancing the concern etched in her eyes. There was love in those eyes for Nate. She never looked at him that way. Maybe he was imagining it or maybe he was just plain jealous of Nate. But there was something there. Call it a guy's sixth sense. He knew Kate loved him but why was there doubts? He could not understand himself.

C'mon it's nothing. Just got a little bothered with the way you danced with Nate. How you looked at him Kate. I don't know. You never look at me that way Kate. Sometimes I wonder....he paused as he looked at her directly dropping her hand.
