Nate felt uncontrollable shaking in his body. He knew it was suicide on his part rushing stupidly into the pouring rain. But he didn't care. No one cared anyway not even his precious Kate. Her rejection hurt him far too deeply. The one person who he truly loved and expected to be there for him on his big day had disappointed him greatly. As usual Ryan took priority. He was nothing. Even if he practically begged her to go. The pain in his heart even worst than what he was feeling.

He was just thankful he was able to reach his apartment safely. With the state he was in he couldn't even barely drive. The coldness of the rain making him shiver all over. He felt disoriented barely able to get out of his wet clothes as he staggered like a drunken man in his apartment. The debilitating pain in his head felt too much to bear as if someone was hammering his head. His eyes were glazed and unfocused. He knew how high his fever was. He felt almost delirious. He tried to get some medicine but hiscanister was empty.

Nate could only drag his body to his bed feeling all the coldness inside him chilling him to the bone. His body felt as if he had been run down by a truck. His mouth felt parched by the high fever. The high temperature shooting right through his head watering his eyes. He needed to drink. He felt so dehydrated. He painfully got out of his bed with a wrapped blanket around him every step he took excruciating. His head was spinning all around him everything was seem to go around in his head. Dazed he staggered losing his balance trying his best to clutch to the sofa. But he slipped his body landing on the floor. Suddenly everything went black.

Kate was beside herself with worry. Nate didn't answer her calls and suddenly it went dead as if he had closed his phone altogether. She knew how hurt he was with her rejection on the most important event in his life. She only realized now how that Harvard affairmeant to Nate. The realization only hitting her. He had come to her hoping expecting her to be there for him and yet she denied him and instead made Ryan her priority. She could only imagine what he had felt expecting support from her and found nothing. The pain mirrored all over his face. He wasn't good in keeping his emotions. All the years she had known him he was always transparent whether he was mad or hurt.

It bothered Kate more was Nate rushing into the pouring rain when she knew he was feverish. It was like he was committing suicide on his part not caring what happened to him She noticed the glazed flushed look about him realizing how high his fever was but was just trying hard to hide it. She had a gut feeling something was wrong like a bad omen inside her. She even called his office and said he had not reported nor called. She tried calling again but his line was still dead. Not in service echoing in her ears. There was a thumping in her heart worried sick over him. Instead she left the office early even making an excuse to Ryan that she was working late and could not meet him and hailed a taxi to Nate's apartment. She had always kept the key he gave to her. For that she was thankful.

She felt apprehension filled with anxiety. She tried to reach him again but nothing. Her instincts were always right it never failed. That something bad happened to Nate. He had to be in his apartment. In his condition he had to go home. What if he met an accident? Or something even terrible. Please Lord she prayed as she could see from a short distance that they were approaching Nate's apartment building. Please let him be alright.

Kate took the stairs two steps at a time. Each step filled with fear. What if he wasn't there? Where would she find him? She knocked calling out his name. There was no answer. She had to go in as she used the key. The first thing she saw was the clothes strewn around his sofa. He came here. She thought. Relief washed over her temporarily.
