Two years later

It had been almost two years eversince their wedding and it was only joy Kate felt with Nate. He was extremely giving trying his best to make her happy every which way he could. He was the perfect husband catering to her needs first before anything else. Every single day showing in little ways how much he loved her. She felt she could not ask for anything more.
Kate felt a slight kick in her tummy smiling to herself. She was five months on the family way. The first time she told Nate the good news he was crying like a baby that they would finally have their little bundle of joy. He even attended La maze classes with her no matter busy his schedule was. He wanted to be hands on with her all the way which made Kate love him more. They had a first view of the baby via ultrasound and he was a male. He would be just like Nate. He would grow up like his father with the same dark hair and striking deep set ocean blue eyes. Kate smiled contentedly rubbing her tummy. They were going to name him Drew Michael Porter. It sounded so good to Kate.
So many beautiful things had happened in their marriage as she flipped through the pages of their album. She remembered the day Nate graduated from Harvard Law School graduating Summa Cum Laude of his class. Standing there so good looking and confident giving his moving speech that brought tears to their eyes. He had three prestigious awards that day. How proud they were of him as she and her mother took turns putting the medals on his neck. But he remained humble almost shy. The down to earth nature of Nate that made him more special in her eyes.
She flipped further in the album to find the front page news clipping of her husband in the front page. Nate Andrew Porter First Place Bar Top Notcher. It was all over the news as she felt proud of her husband taking his oath for the first time as a full fledged lawyer. Through it all he was always looking at her with love in his eyes. Somehow expressing his gratitude that they did it together. She recalled Nate's long hours of studying, the sleepless nights preparing for the bar exams trying her best to give him support. All the hard work Nate strived to make a good life for both of them. She was proud of her husband of who he had become and will be so much more in the future.
It was only contentment Kate felt surveying their beautiful living room. It only seemed like yesterday that they were living in Nate's cramp apartment and now they had moved into their new home. The house they had both wished and dreamed about. It was Nate's gift to her for their first year anniversary. He had surprised her putting a kerchief over her eyes as he carried her in his arms over the threshold of their intricately mahogany door. She will never forget the excitement inside her as she bounced up and down in delight like a little kid. The best part was making love in their new bedroom floor and all. The intense passion and love combined resulted in this she looked at her bulging tummy giggling to herself.
Anytime now Nate would be coming home smelling the sumptous roast beef and mashed potatoes she had cooked for him. He was the golden boy of Stewart and Goldman Law Offices, the most prestigious law firm in Boston. He was their best litigation lawyer winning three major cases for the firm. Kate had seen her husband in action as he gave his rebuttals. The ease, confidence and magnetism he demonstrated as he presented to the jury. How impressed she was at the capabilities of Nate and the convincing power inherent inside him always winning the jury hands down. But as always he remained down to earth, always humble. All the attention and glory never going to his head remaining simple in his ways. Still being the wonderful loving husband he was to her.
Nate on the other hand drove home feeling a slight headache on the side of his head. It had been a stressful day at court presenting to the jury his rebuttals but he could see positive responses on their faces one that he hoped would be in his favor. The decision would be out in three weeks a much publicized case that meant a lot to the firm. It's triumph would again be another star in his glorious career. It was hard being the golden boy of Stewart and Goldman the ability to win, to produce till you felt you had nothing left in yourself. But Nate wanted to strive hard give the all the best to Kate and their coming baby boy Drew. No matter how tired he was coming home was the greatest joy for Nate seeing Kate loving her with all his heart. Sometimes he had to pinch himself to the reality that all fervent wishes were in his hands now. He was starting to make a name for himself as a good prosecutor, having his only love Kate right by his side for better for worst. Their wonderful baby to come which he could shower all his love. That was made Nate whole coming home to his family. It only seemed like yesterday he was struggling with his life but God had been good to him shaping his life in so many ways. He always had goodies for Kate trying to satisfy her cravings for different variety of food due to her pregnancy. He wanted to spoil her rotten. Cater to her every need. Nate felt fulfilled as his BMW wounded on their sprawling house looking at the breath taking mirage of flowers surrounding the place. White shutters cobbled steps. Their dream house it was far from lavished but it was cozy and beautiful to Nate. So far flung from his one step apartment. He still smiled when he saw his good old reliable jeep in their garage recalling all the memories that went with it. Nate just felt blessed that all his dreams had fallen into place and maybe even more in the future. All he wanted was to be with his wife, his breath of fresh air from a tiring day.
