Chapter 11

           Kate and Shelly giggled like a couple of high school kids talking about their fave crushes. It was just like old times only this time they were adults now. It was a slow day just preparing for the surprise party of their boss. Deadlines were done and it was a time to relax.

It was really a nice night Shelly. He is so down to earth unlike other rich guys Kate remarked. He even called yesterday. I was with Nate buying our boss's gift. Ryan told me I should have asked him and he would dropped all his plans.

Shelly giggled. Told you so. Tim said Ryan enjoyed himself so much and he even plans to see you often as he could. I had this feeling you would match and I was right. And you look so good together Kate.

I know and I really enjoy being with him. He's even eager to please trying his best to impress me. And to tell you honestly he does. Even his car it's so sleek and classy. A BMW, Nate's ultimate dream car.

Tim says Ryan's a really good guy. And not just for show but a genuine one. He is even mature for his age. He's only 25 and not at all a playboy considering how rich he is.

Kate felt dreamy. The more her attraction for him grew.

I can see he is. I just wonder about the pressure he's in. I feel his father expects so much from him.

Well Tim said his father is very strict. A disciplinarian in fact. They grew up together so Tim really knows him as a child.

I can see Ryan' s expression the pressure he gets from his father just reading between the lines. I think his father is a hard person to deal with. His words like God.

Maybe. But you like him don't you Kate? I can even see your excitement going out with him again.

Kate blushed at Shelly's thoughts. Her friend knew her so well.

Well he's a nice guy. What's there not to like. Would you believe yesterday Nate came over and I started rattling to my mom what a great date I had and I even forgot Nate was there and got carried away. He heard everything and wasn't happy about it. Kate narrated.

So how's Nate taking it? I'm pretty sure he'd want to strangle me first then kill me. Shelly said over reacting.

Not good. He became all quiet at breakfast. He didn't even say a word. I had to do a lot of softening him up. Kate sighed. I know its not easy for him. We were always together and now its different. Nate feels as if he's going to lose me.

Shelly could only pat her friend. But look at it this way doesn't it feel good to have two guys fuzzing over you? I would be more than happy to be in your shoes.

Kate laughed. Easily said than done. Nate's not taking it well. I feel he's even jealous and when he becomes like that he gets utterly irritable or he doesn't say a word.

Shelly made a face thinking for awhile.

Bummer. Nate loves you that's why but he always has that friendship sign on his head. But with Ryan you're giving it a try right?

Kate managed a smile. I've known Nate practically all my life. I'm immune to his charm well not all off course but I really like to explore even meet new guys like Ryan for example.

But it really feels flattering to have two guys paying attention to you. It feels downright good. She had a smile on her face as she said it.

Shelly looked thrilled. And now that you're dating Ryan we can even double date. Do the night life together. she cried excitedly.

They giggled then enjoying what was to come. Their eyes feeling more excited at the prospect. Their office phone was ringing. Shelly picked it up on the 2nd ring. Her eyes filled with teasing. It's your Prince Charming she whispered. It was Ryan alright. She felt a thrill course through her as she picked up the phone with Shelly listening in.
