Kate had been really happy the past days, maybe it was due to the fact that all was right between Nate and her. Even her promotion was almost done and it would be announced officially the following week. It was all her dreams come true. Ryan was still ever so devoted picking her up every day, bringing her flowers, treating her to expensive places. He always catered to her, pampering her in so many ways. Admiring his responsible ways, how down to earth, no matter how rich he was. This made Kate realized how love was starting to come into the picture for her. She could see it in Ryan's eyes and the way he acted. Even her mother who still favoured Nate was starting to like him seeing how much he made her happy and how hard he was trying to win her over.

It was a Friday and both she and Shelly were lounging lazily in a nearby Starbuck's cafe just opposite their office. It was a gruelling week but today with all the deadlines met it was a time to relax and just talk. She can always have girl talk with Shelly.

I'm just so happy Nate and I patched up Shel. And I was so embarrassed. Imagine I couldn't help myself when I saw him. I started to cry, I was all so red faced and everything. Talk about poise. But honestly, he was so sweet about it and so tender.

Nate's always been a sweetie to you, you know that. He could never harden himself wherever you're concerned Kate cause he loves you.

We're just friends Shel, Love complicates friendship. I've seen it so many times. It just ruins things. It's better things left like this than we lose what we have.

I know. It is hard. Shel said. I know Nate hates me now. I can just imagine him glowering at me if we happen to see each other.

C'mon Nate's not like that. He might not be in favour of you pairing me up with Ryan but he still has the manners.

Shelly looked sceptic. Part of me feels guilty. She admitted. But I got you a really great catch too Kate. Ryan is a good guy right?

Yes he is wonderful in every way. We never ran out of things to talk about. He also has an off beat sense of humour I enjoy. And he is so humble Shel I've never seen a far more down to earth guy than Ryan. Actually, he is also similar to Nate in some ways.

Isn't it I told you. Imagine being torn between two equally good looking guys with the great personalities to match. How can you be so lucky Kate! She made a face. But I'm not complaining. Tim is simply adorable and so loving. I can just imagine walking down the aisle with him in the future.

And I know a little something too. Tim said Ryan plans to propose soon make it official like having you as his girlfriend. According to Tim he wants to do it soon. She giggled naughtily.

Kate felt her face flush. I don't know what to say. Is that what Tim said? She asked feeling the nervousness inside her. It would be official now like having a real boyfriend, and it excited her. Ryan Montgomery will be her first boyfriend.

OMG, you'll finally have your first boyfriend Kate. Shelly looked all excited. It was as if she was going to jump right off the hat that very minute.

Do you really love him Kate? Are you sure it's Ryan for you not Nate. You know Nate has waited forever just waiting for a sign from you so he can tell you how he really feels.

Nate is my friend, we've been forever friends. It should remain that way. It's Ryan Shelly, I'm sure. With Ryan everything just seems to be right.

As your true friend, I just want you to be sure. It's so hard to choose if I were in your place. And be prepared, anytime. Ryan loves you and he doesn't want to prolong it anymore. When some feelings feel right you know you have to seize it.
