I peek down at my cast.
I let out a small gasp.
'Don't waste any time trying to be anyone but yourself because the things that make you strange are the things that make you powerful. Keep up the good work! ~B.P'
Darren looks over my shoulder.
"How did he..."
I shrug, smiling.

I lay wide awake.
It's late.
And I'm stiiiillllll awake.
My phone buzzes.
I don't even check to see who it is.
It's the same as every day.
I get the message.
I leave, pretending to go to work.
I meet him.
He says creepy things.
I roll my eyes and leave.
If I don't show up, he does a weird psycho thing.
Then it repeats.
Everyday.
Consistent.
Darren snores loudly so i sneak around carefully not to wake him up.

I stand beside the Richard Rodgers Theatre, pretending to check a text on my phone.
"You should tell them the truth, Charlotte."
I spin on my heels.
"God, you are just the king of sneaking behind people and freaking them out. Have you ever considered auditioning for Phantom of the Opera?"
He rolls his eyes.
A huge roll of thunder hinders our conversation.
I mumble a curse.
"Look. I don't have time for your freaky shit right now. I have to do something."
He chuckles.
"What are you laughing at?"
He shrugs, holding his arms out.
"I just find it funny that you're running off to check on the blonde one, after all that crap she said to you a while back at the Tonys."
I adjust my bag on my shoulder.
"Well she and my husband are about all I've got now, so fuck off."
He shakes his head.
"Whatever you say, Princess."
I mumble a, 'fuck you' before heading to Addie's apartment building.

I knock on the door, making note not to yell so she doesn't know it's me.
There's a peephole, dumbass.
She opens the door in a few moments, a hint of fear in her eyes.
When she sees me, her eyes turn angry and she attempts to close the door.
I block it with my foot.
She glares at me.
"What do you want?"
I stare at my shoes, noticing how wet they got from running in the rain.
"Uh...I just knew y-you have a thing with storms and uh...Oak is working late on Fridays and I j-just wanted to check on you."
I remove my foot.
"You can close the door now if you want. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for being a dick the other night. I know I'm a sucky friend and I keep-"
Tears start dripping down my face.
"...fucking everything up because I say things I don't mean and I-"
She steps forward and hugs me.
I sniffle.
"You're not fucking everything up. I said mean things to you too. And I'm sorry. You know I didn't mean it right? You know how I get."
I pull away for a moment.
"Addie are you pregnant again?"
She laughs.
"No. Not yet."
I sigh.
"I can't handle anymore kids."
She rolls her eyes.
"Tell me about it."
I smile and start to leave.
"And Charlotte...."
I turn around.
"Make sure to save me a ticket for your opening night."
I cringe.
"Y-Yeah. Will do. Bye Addie."
She waves and closes her door.
Your opening night.
