Addie and I walked down the streets of Times Square.
She sighed.
"I hope when I go to Heaven the streets of gold have giant New York style billboards."
I chuckled.
"Oh, dear sweet innocent Charlotte. People like me don't go to Heaven."
I remain silent and stare down at the pavement under my feet.
Just the streets of this beautiful city are enough to send a girl like me into a shouting spell.
I smile at the ground.
It's just a sidewalk.
But at the same time, it's so much more.
"Charlotte?"
I lift my head up.
"Uh...what?"
I ask slowly.
Addie smirks.
"Stop being so existential and hang out here with me. Don't be stuck in your head all night."
I smile and nod.
We finally arrive at the theater.
"I'm so excited."
Addie began.
"It's been forever since we've been able to actually watch a show."
My eyes widened.
"Oh! Speaking of...Tony nominees are announced tonight!"
She smiles.
"Let's hope for the best."
I nod quickly.
She smiles as we step into the auditorium.
We settle into our seats.
And for a bit, everything is ok.
