"What...the hell...were you thinking?"

I paced up and down the hallway of Mitch's apartment building.

"I don't know!"

I hold my head in my hands, putting my back to the wall and sliding to the floor.

"This is ridiculous....Wait..."

I looked up from my lap.

"What?"

The hallway was empty but me.

"I know why you did it..."

I scoff.

"What are you talking about?"

My phone buzzed in my pocket.

I ignored it.

"You wanted this to happen."

I sigh, shaking my head.

"You know as good as anyone that that's not what happened."

She laughed.

"It's like you said...you'll never be as good as Addie...so that's why you didn't tell..."

I stood up.

"What the hell man? I told the truth finally. Why are you still here anyways?!"

She groaned.

"To knock sense into you...this is sick...you wanted her dead...you wanted her gone so you could have the spotlight..."

I clutched my head.

"That's not true!"

"Isn't it?"

I stared down at my shoes.

"Hm?"

I looked back up.

"What should I do?"

There was silence.

"Leave..."

There was a knock at my door.

I jumped.

"Nonononono no!"

The knock became louder.

"I'm coming In!"

It was Oak.

"Shit shit shit!"

The door opened.

He stomped into the bedroom.

"Listen here you little shit..."

He towered over me again.

"I want you out of our lives."

I motioned to the room.

"What the hell do you think I'm tryin to do?"

I said, my southern accent seeping through.

He raised an eyebrow.

"You...are a bitch...you've been using Addie this whole time...and I'm sick of it..."

He said between deep breaths.

"I was wrong ok?! Just let me fix it!"

I took a step back, beginning to feel anxious with the big man.

"If you were in my position...trying desperately to protect everyone you love...what would you do?"

He walked closer, bringing my anxiety back.
